tumblr mobile has seadily become near unusable these past few updates. not just from a user experience perspective (which is important enough in itself) but also from an accessibility perspective.
examples include the new way the image viewer works (if you can call it "working"), the tumblr live button replacing the profile button, and that newly created blogs will be forced to have their main dashboard tab be the 'for you' page.
reverse the recent image viewer update
scrap the new users 'for you' page default setting
let us turn off tumblr live indefinitely
increase efforts against spam / porn bots
make reporting abuse and hate speech as easy as reporting as reporting spam
let us go nuts show nuts again... for real this time
commit to improving usability and accessibility, and listening to users!
(suggestions welcome!)
to protest against these usability issues, and inspired by the recent reddit blackout, i propose a 48 hour blackout (where you don't use tumblr at all). preferably of both mobile and web (since web has problems too) but mobile is the focus here.
this marks the end of pride month (for the "queerest place on the internet") and the start of disability month (since accessibility is a massive issue here).
tumblr office is in San Francisco, USA, so the times and dates will be calculated using their time zone (PDT).
i can't afford to blaze this post so please spread it around as much as possible! protests only work if significant numbers show up!
Here's one of the last zodiac customs I've done, Gemini 1.0!
I did two customs inspired by the sign, since I thought people would absolutely hate this one. But to my surprise peeps over in Instagram absolutely loved it.
The second custom is the exact same design, just missing the third eye :]
I wanted to keep the "twins" theme going on without having to do two customs, so I melded two LPS together and sanded the living hell out of the seam. I think I did pretty good job with this one eh? I hope all Geminis like the custom fjskdk
doing something slightly different, black + white + spot color
forms will stay open until Nov 1, however i probably won't be able to complete them within october bc of previous queue
$80 for single character, furries/OCs preferred over arcana UNLESS i get a cool idea (i've been considering goats for infection/burned), finals will be posted at the usual sites
otherwise, reblog n' share!
Draw your OC like this
This isn’t for your Bill playlist but your Ford and Bill playlist because I think I found another song from the asshole’s point of view :D
So I've decided to put this horrible mix of Music I've Decided Bill Cipher Would Listen To in its own dedicated playlist. And curating this playlist has already brought up some fascinating questions.
Like, "should I add the explicit version of Get Low—or, since he's a Disney character, the clean version?"
Or "should I add the version of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds by The Beatles... or the version by William Shatner?"
I'm still adding songs, so expect it to get much longer.
A BIRD JUST WALKED ON MY WINDOW SEAL AND LEFT BEFORE I COULD TAKE A PICTURE I DIDNT EVEN SPOOK IT
he's very excited about his first night as a jack o lantern
So I thought this was commonly known internet navigation (but apparently it might just be those of us who have been using the internet since the 90's who still know it). Or so it seems based on... a grumpy comment I got.
When you see an arrow like this:
It means you click it to expand out a hidden section.
It's an accordion section/menu! It's useful in web design to hide information that may be overwhelming under specific headers so people can only see what they need.
Here I'm using it for people who need the content warnings to be able to check, but for those who don't need them and don't want to be spoiled to just move right past without accidentally reading anything.
It's still the user's responsibility to click the arrow and read things as they need! But it is all warned. (And, yes, the all encompassing issues are already a tag on the fic, I'm just providing additonal warnings per chapter.)
