Im watching Steven Universe for the first time and like. You all lied. This show is amazing. The characters are great, the storytelling is fascinating, and the way it handles moral questions is really thoughtful and interesting. Im really upset at what tumblr and the internet more broadly did to steven universe.

You know, I didn’t expect writing the Hermits discovering waffles to be this fun. I’m looking forward to writing about them discovering mundane life things and how they’ll interact with the world.

i want art to feel EARNEST. this disgusting, near pornographic level of tongue in cheek meta humor is making me sick to my stomach. i don’t know how many more movies i can take about clever subversions and the movie winking at you to say “we know it’s a little silly, but…” where is the whimsy? why can’t we believe in the pretend you’ve created? why don’t you have enough faith in it? in my ability to believe?
