Honestly at first I was just thinking of cute octopi and somehow made a connection to Dazai bc both are cute then I realized that octopi are super smart and escape artists and I got really really excited đ
And it was originally going to be all of them as tiny adorable sea creatures but then I realized that I would feel the urge to make Dazai a fish, more specifically a mackerel, so I went with merfolk so Chuuya could hold a tiny adorable octopus Dazai

I honestly considered having Kojiro riding on Kaoru during this race, buuut that wouldâve complicated things so Kaoru decided to do this alone for once.
I figure after Dazai left PM Academy, Chuuya would fight solo for the most part. I like to think that he would team up with others on occasion, both as a Meister and a weapon, but now that heâs a professor and he doesnât have his usual partner, he tends to fight alone. Plus, corruption is an issue and only Dazai was able to handle it.
