you really get a perspective on how clinically insane the motogp fandom is when you look at the main “generic” ship compared to other fandoms…usually the main pairing in a fandom are two plain Guys who are just Dudes. they’ll be childhood acquaintances who barely graze eachother on track every once in a while or make eye contact during regular conversations.

but our main GENERIC ship is motorcycle god himself incarnated in the flesh x a maniacal child devotee that worshipped him, only for said God to spit in his face and try to ruin his career. it’s a filthy toxic 14 year age gap slash exploitative power dynamic yaoi that generationally divided even the FANS with on-track fighting so ugly that there’s still splitting discourse about it A DECADE LATER. his former idolizer has started desecrating his grave and breaking down his empire one brick at a time, taking records that were previously his, all while he watches on. their narrative is so deeply entwined and rancid that their red string of fate might as well be a chain slathered in blood.

mention it to a motogp fan and they’ll casually agree like “yeah that’s rosquez. duh.” we’re so conditioned to what’d be madness in any normal person’s eyes and EYE think that’s great. crackhead sport with fans to match its freak. fandom imitates blorbo or however the saying goes
