Total buffoon. And corrupt beyond belief.
To describe Trump's actions as “potential conflicts of interest” misses the point. A “potential conflict of interest” sounds like an unfortunate situation in which it’s possible that Trump might choose his own personal interest over the nation’s. Stated this way, the problem is the conflict. But Trump isn’t conflicted. He repeatedly chooses his (and his family’s) interests over the nation’s. He is using the authority and trappings of the presidency of the United States to make money for himself and his family. And in his second term, this corruption is more flagrant than it was in the first. I had assumed that Trump’s undoing would be his unquenchable thirst for power. It may yet be, but I’m beginning to think his insatiable greed will do him in. America’s Grifter-in-Chief knows no bounds.
This is what a dictatorship looks like.
Reminder...
See what DOGE was about all along?
See what DOGE was about all along?
DOGE is cutting federal employees and the vital services they perform in our communities. Meanwhile, Elon's corporations are raking in billions of dollars in government contracts while Trump and his cronies work to extend tax cuts for the rich that will balloon the deficit. DOGE was never about "efficiency."
This is what a fascist takeover looks like.
Connect the dots.
It's a new Golden Age for corruption.
A "new Golden Age" for whom?
The test of a successful president has nothing to do with how much he gets done in 100 days or how much power he accumulates. The real test is how much better off are the people, and how much stronger is our nation. By these measures, the second term of Trump is a travesty.
The budget blueprint that U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled Friday would give a record $1.01 trillion to the American military for the coming fiscal year while imposing $163 billion in total cuts to housing, education, healthcare, climate, and labor programs. Trump has made his priorities more than clear.
Some Democrats don't want to call out the American oligarchy. They think voters don't know what "oligarchy" means. Hello? They know what oligarchy is. They witness it in action every day.
Remember: Working people outnumber the billionaires and CEOs by a wide margin. When working people stand together, they win.
"Party of the working class."
There are ample reasons for despair, but Trump’s second term is exposing a reality that has been hidden from most Americans: the raw, stinking power of the American oligarchy. And its use of obscene wealth to gain this power. My hope is founded on Americans seeing and responding to this reality.
Words matter. When the media points out Trump’s “potential conflicts of interest,” as it has in recent days when describing Trump’s growing crypto enterprise, it doesn’t come close to telling the public what’s really going on — unprecedented paybacks and self-dealing by the president of the United States, using his office to make billions. The correct word is corruption.
