I know y’all probably won’t care but something pretty funny happened in my Math class.

I asked a question pertaining to something in the lesson (it had something to do with square roots and negitive signs).

It went as follows

Teacher: okay so if you wrote it like that you get something we call an imaginary number

Me (directly afterwards): so I was confused when we started adding the alphabet to Math now we are adding IMAGINARY NUMBERS?!!?

Teacher: well, you don’t do them in [insert grade] yet

Another student: so your telling me that we are gonna use nonexistent numbers?

Teacher: not nonexistent but imaginary

Same student: THAT’S THE SAME THING!
