2nd day of my anatomy study. I'm starting to get worn out from drawing people and decided that I should focus on something else. Horses seemed like the best fit.

September 2nd, 2023
On August 31st, we went to Jacobsburg. When we waddled over to the bird area, we saw that a Fall Webworms nest had fallen out of the tree and onto the ground. There was some storms I think the day before and since the Fall Webworms lay their eggs and make their nest on the edge of branches in trees, it is a very likely thing to happen. I hope all the baby Fall Webworms survive.
Fall Webworms are considered pests and can sometimes even be confused as invasive species. Fall Webworms are actually native to North America. They can be found all over, even up to Canada and down to Mexico. Fall Webworms do not harm trees or plants. They are actually one of the most important pollinators for our trees and many other native plants. The only "harm" they do is cause cosmetic damages.
A female Fall Webworm will make her nest on the ends of branches, taking a few leaves into the nest. She will then lay her eggs in there. The baby Fall Webworms will eventually hatch into caterpillars and feed on the leaves inside the nest. As they get older and bigger and stronger, they will go deeper into the nest to eat the leaves inside.
Fall Webworms are a native species that is beneficial to North America.
snail as old as slime
first up: Albee Bee
Price: $28 beans
At first glance I thought Albee would be much bigger than she truly is. In actuality she is only a mere 5 inches tall, which is fine but not fine for the price. Short statute aside, I love how fuzzy she is. She reminds me of a carpenter bee, but it is quite obvious she is a bumble bee! I like how tiny her wings are in contrast to her chubby body as well as her polite smile.
Rating: 9/10 squishies. I took off one point mostly because of the price. At max I believe it would be acceptable if she were $15 beans instead of $28 mostly because a small bashful is of was $15 to $25 beans and they are almost around the same size as her.
Next: amuseables cinnamon bun
Price:$28 beans
another small guy measuring in at 3 inches tall this time. I like the creamy white icing lining on the top of them. I do not like the corduroy fabric for their feet though. I feel that they could have given him just a bit more icing embroidery that was almost melting over onto his face, mostly because almost every cinnamon bun I've seen or eaten has lots of icing. Since this is a plushie company for the UK though, maybe their cinnamon buns do not have lots of icing like the ones I'm used too. Over all he is nice and simple and cute.
Rating: 5/10 squishies. He is cute and simple but he doesn't blow me away for fill me with an overwhelming spark. While they do seem like a gentleman and we'd probably make great friends, I'm not so sure they would be open to my many adventures. Also he is just too expensive for his size which is something all Jellycats are. Once again, I feel $15 is the maximum price he should be.
Next: Rene Waffle
Price: $40 beans
While I do like waffles, they are not my favorite. However my favorite part on Rene is her silky smooth looking syrup. Aside from that, Rene is another plushie measuring at 5 inches, which is WAAAAAYYY to small than what I thought for her. Also I feel like they couldn't given her just lil feets. Why give her arms and not feets? I suppose it's the same as giving some legs and no arms. Maybe she needs another with legs to balance her out. Or maybe just a horse. Or not at all. Who knows, only Rene knows. Besides that, I'm also not a fan on the waffle pattern on her. Maybe waffles look different in the UK but it doesn't look like a waffle to me at first.
Rating: 4/10 squishies. Rene is not getting a bad rating because of her but rather the obscenely high price on her head. Why does she cost 2 times the price of others who are the same size and seems to be materials? I'm pretty sure it is due to her being available at the Jellycat Cafes, but exclusivity only makes her feel left out.
Next: bashful beige bunny with birthday cake
Price:$45
My favorite types of jellycats are the bashful line. From their floppy legs and arms to their dumpy chubby bodies to the many arrays of animals, they seem like the best companions and friends. I also love cake as a food but the jellycat birthday cake is one of my favorite unique textured plushies. In my meeting with the rare and elusive birthday cake plushie, their cake texture felt like ACTUAL cake fuzzy, or at least cake in a mushy crumbly form. Now this plushie takes the best of both worlds and puts them together. I expected it to be a bit of a higher price but I did not expect it to be this high. For one, the medium bashful bunny by its self is $30 beans!! For a 9 inch stuffie!!! But the cake plushie is $33 beans for a 5 inch plushie. So they added $15 beans for a lil cake that hardly measures to half the size of the bigger one but it's almost half the price?
Rating: 9/10 I love this plushie but $45 beans is way to much especially adding together the prices of both plushies separately.
Next: fran pancakes
Price: $35 beans
I love pancakes. I love Fran pancakes. From the fuzzy texture of her pancakes to the shiny silky syrup to her lil blueberries and the alternating colors on the pancakes, I love it. I didn't expect her to be only 4 inches. 4?!?!? Also I don't like the corduroy feets. I believe she is only this much beans because of her previously being exclusive to the Jellycat Diner. I'm glad they made it so everyone can purchase her (but really who can if she is always out of stock), but I assumed she would be $28 beans like the rest of the plushies like her. Regardless, I love her design so much and everything about her. I hope to feel her fluff one day to just know what the texture is like, even though I know I probably will not. Fran pancakes, the adventures we'd go on. I hope one day we can meet. Until that day I wait for you with the rest of my friends on planet Ursus.
Rating: 10/10 but please make her the same price as the other plushies like her. I can't even afford the normal $28 but now she is a whole $7 beans more
