One thing I hate about modern media creation is this absolutely lazy-ass “explaining in post” that writers feel compelled to engage in on social media and interviews.

The hard pivot from “if there’s textual evidence for your interpretation, it’s valid” to “just ask the creator and integrate that information into your understanding of the text” truly drives me insane. Especially when creators often leave out these details completely because they can just go on twitter and vomit out the information that they failed to cleverly integrate later.

I will be totally honest. I have never once been happy hearing a writer reveal information that wasn’t telegraphed in the story itself. Not fucking once.
