The letters EMSP stand for " Ewan McGregor Screentime Percentage" which is how long he spends on screen in a given movie. It is ordered from his highest screentime percentage to lowest. today was terrible. My job gets the credit for that. I'm genuinely scared about tomorrow and am probably going to eat my feelings to cope which I don't want to do but I don't know what ELSE to do.

HOWEVER! I'm determining to find one good thing that happened every day and writing it down and today there was one really good thing.

My friend had a heart attack a few weeks back. Last week she was cleared to come back to work and it's nice seeing her again. She's doing better which is wonderful. During her hospitalization and recovery, I'd reach out to her and chat, offer encouragement, or assistance if necessary. Just being a friend. She was really moved by this and today she surprised me with a beautiful gold cross necklace to show her appreciation! I was stunned. She asked if it was something I would wear and I told her I'd wear it immediately lol. And I did! I put it on right there and finished my shift wearing it. I never expected anything in return for being there for her. That's what friends do and her friendship is more than enough. Still, I'm honored by her gesture and will cherish this necklace forever.

Here is a picture of my goodest boy. My best friend. He crossed the rainbow bridge last week...thank you for allowing me to share him with you. I hope he brings a smile to your face.

He will give great advice. He will even do everything so you never feel alone. He is my favorite person in the earth ever (well Olivia is first lol )

Also when I came out as trans he was supportive.

🎃 Halloween Idea 🎃

So, today marks exactly three months until Halloween! I have an idea that I want to share with y'all and need help fleshing it out. What if we had a Ewan Halloween celebration? Halloween falls on a Thursday this year and there will be five Thursdays in October. I'm thinking about hosting an online movie night each Thursday leading up to Halloween where we watch a scary Ewan movie! We can call it Ewanween, or HallowEwan, or just Halloween: Ewan Edition (I clearly need help with a name 😅). I can set up a discord for us to watch together at a chosen time. Maybe on Halloween day we can do a double feature or something! I'm open to ideas! I was also thinking of maybe incorporating spooky/scary fanart and fanfic. For example, if for the 2nd Thursday we watch Shallow Grave then on that day we can share our creations that have to do with the movie/characters. What do you think? I've never done something like that before so it might be outside my abilities to put that together. Plus, I know there are other, more established, fan events that happen throughout October. It's just a thought! Now, as for the movies, we need five. I made a list of seven Ewan movies that I felt fit the Halloween vibe. If this idea garners interest, then I'll make a poll for us to narrow down the choices. Please let me know your thoughts and share with anyone you think will be interested!

💖 enemies to lovers or friends to lovers - I love both of these so much. I think I'm going to have to go with friends to lovers, but I love them bickering so that's gotta be part of the friendship too. There's just something about everyone else around them knowing that they're in love with each other (though I also really love that in an enemies to lovers fic).

💖 coffee shop au or flower shop au - I love a coffee shop au! I love Obi-Wan going to a coffee shop for his tea fix just because there's the cute guy (Anakin, obvs) who always takes his order and draws little doodles on his cup. Or an Obi-Wan who, again, doesn't really like the taste of coffee but he loves the smell so he's actually really good at managing the coffee shop he owns that Anakin basically lives in. I will say, though, that Calico had a really good argument for a flower shop au in their post. So in that spirit, imagine a flower shop au where Anakin hates flowers (so me, that's why coffee shop will win every time for me) but applies for a job at the flower shop he passes on his way to campus when he sees the help wanted sign, all because he's had a crush on the hot owner (Obi-Wan) since it opened. A few months into Obi-Wan finds out that Anakin hates flowers and asks why he applied in the first place. Anakin's brain shorts out and tells him the truth. They date (and fuck) about it.

💖 hurt/comfort or there was only one bed - Only one bed by a landslide. I'm in a place in life where, if I had to choose, there would be little to no hurt in anything I read.

💖 found family or partners in crime - I love these both so much, but I'm going to have to go with found family. I'm obsessed with Obi-Wan and Anakin being Ahsoka’s dads, and found family just means so much to me in general.

💖 canon compliant or canon divergent - Has to be canon divergent because obikin deserves a happy ending. There can be compliant stuff there, but I need that happy ending.

💖 fluff or angst with a happy ending - I'm going to have to go with fluff. I can get through angst with a happy ending, but depending on how much angst and if it's all posted or if I have to wait and stew on it until an update it's actually really hard for me. I probably sound like such a weenie. Lol.

💖 1st person POV or 3rd person POV - 3rd person for sure.

💖 soulmates or forbidden love - I love a good soulmates/soulmark fic! So soulmates.

💖 roommates or fake dating - Calico cheated so I'm going to, too. Roommates who are fake dating is also my answer. 🤣

💖 slow burn or meet-cute - I'm all about that meet-cute!

💖 love triangle or polyamorous relationship - If I had to pick one I'd go with a poly relationship, but neither are really my thing.

💖 royalty au or magic au - I love a royalty au!

💖 high school/college au or neighbours au - I'm going to cheat again and say a neighbors au where Anakin's in college, or they're both in high school, or Anakin's in high school and Obi-Wan's in college, or something.

💖 mutual pining or idiots to lovers - I honestly kind of think they're the same thing. But I'll go with idiots to lovers.

What to do now? A guide for uncertain times:

Right now: do something other than social media or reading the news. Play a game, pick up a hobby, go for a walk, try a new recipe, ground yourself in something. Let your brain process everything by putting it on the back burner, let it percolate. Remember that you do have a voice, that the worst thing you can do is check out, that the most radical thing you can do is be kind.

Next few weeks: Keep working on the things that bring you joy. Make plans for the future. Assess where you are and where you want to be — physically, mentally, personally, geographically. Schedule doctor’s appointments. Delete your Twitter. Make new friends, connect with old ones, talk to your neighbors, join a community group. If you have a supportive family, talk to them too. Donate to the ACLU. By propping up others, teaching others, reassuring others, you help yourself too. Find a mutual aid group. Keep your head up. Love yourself and don’t wallow in despair. Remember that you do have a voice, that the worst thing you can do is check out, that the most radical thing you can do is be kind.

Next few months: execute on the plans for the future. Keep going with those hobbies. Keep loving yourself. Read reliable, fact-based news. Delete your Twitter (for real this time). Bake bread for your neighbor. Celebrate the holidays. Buy concert tickets as far out as you can, give yourself things to look forward to. Volunteer at a community center. Take a class. Teach others about how us queers and faggots are just people too. Remember that you do have a voice, that the worst thing you can do is check out, that the most radical thing you can do is be kind.

Next 6 months: Keep executing your plans. Write your representatives. Plant a little garden. Learn an instrument. Go to a zoo. Keep reading fact-based news (AP, Reuters, ProPublica, NPR even though it’s a bit biased to the left). Donate to the ACLU. When the sun comes out, get some bread, cheese, apples, and grapes, put them in a basket, go for a gay little picnic. Don’t make another Twitter account. Stock up on meds. Learn a new TTRPG. Pick up a fibrecraft. Remember that you do have a voice, that the worst thing you can do is check out, that the most radical thing you can do is be kind.

Next 4 years: make little baby steps to move towards your plans. Keep building relationships. Vote in local elections. Donate to the ACLU. Volunteer for state or national elections. Recognize that you live in a stupendously large country with assloads of diversity. Love yourself. Lift up other people. Remember that you do have a voice, that the worst thing you can do is check out, that the most radical thing you can do is be kind.

Shit is going to be really really rough for many many people. But if you’re reading this, you can’t give up, you can’t give in, you have to keep going. If you’re trans, if you’re queer, if you’re a freak and a faggot, you have to live.
