⭐️ (Belated) Happy Star Wars Day!! ⭐️
Mark totally manifested the fandom’s love for Yancy directly onto the captain (player character). Just look at that longing hand touch to the glass coming directly from us. He knows how much everyone loves him. I adore it. ♥️ 😂
Here. Have kudos on that fanfic you wrote in your head while you were in the shower and never typed it out. When I recover from the brilliance of it, I’ll come back to leave a review.
Finally finished lol 🎃
Newsiestober Day 31 - Halloween

First Impressions 💙
This was initially for Day 14 (Davey) but I got caught up by my schoolwork, so here it is. Additionally, it can be considered an advanced submission for Day 25 (Favorite ship)
Pardon me if this has been asked before but I was wondering if you had any information on the popular past times that the Newsies liked to partake in? I heard from a friend that they enjoyed watching vaudeville performances but I couldn’t find a source on that.
Yes vaudeville was very popular among the newsies! According to Children of the City: At Work and at Play by David Nasaw the boys used to sit in the cheap seats in front of the stage and throw things at people they didn’t like. This meant that actors would often play to the boys in the cheap seats rather than playing to the boxes as they do now because the children could destroy a whole performance if they didn’t like you.
Other common pastimes were penny arcades, nickelodeon theatres, and gambling games like craps. Boys staying at the lodging house also had access to a games room featuring dominoes, cards, and a billiards table.
If you’re interested in learning more, I recommend Children of the City very highly. There is also a great chapter about newsboy culture in Darkness and Daylight, which, while definitely biassed to encourage sympathy for the charity that published it, is still a great primary resource on New York in the 1890s.

Newsiestober 2019 Day 16 - Katherine Pulitzer/Plummer
Here she is in her outfits from the Philippine production of Disney’s Newsies: The Broadway Musical, and yes I absolutely love her character as well as her outfits in that production so very much.
