A Glitched Darkness: Chapter 3 - Memories or Warning?

Jack, Sam and the others walked out of the cinema, laughing as Chase continued to make impressions of people from the movie. Jack chuckled “Oh, geez, that movie was great! Don’t you agree, Chase?” Jack asked his goofy friend, Chase laughed and nodded “Yeah but oh my god, Jack! Your face when that monster jumpscared everybody!” Chase twisted his face to imitate a slack jaw expression as everyone laughed, Jack punched Chase’s arm playfully “Quit it you!” Jack stated before continuing to walk with the others with Sam hovering above them all. They all headed back to Jack’s apartment and sat down in the living room, Sam hovered over to a septic tank and placed himself inside of it as Jack walked over to the kitchen with Chase to get some tea, laughing all the while. Marvin leaned towards Schneep “Okay, when we are all sitting down, I’m going to ask questions, we’ve waited long enough” Marvin whispered, Schneep shrugged his shoulders and sighed “Vell, if you must…” he still thought that a simple nightmare couldn’t mean anything but he knew Marvin well enough to know when he had something he wanted to know, he wouldn’t stop until he had it. Plus, he was the wisest out of the lot of them, so if he thought it was serious, it must be. Jack and Chase walked over with four cups of tea and handed them out to the rest of the group before Chase reached for the remote and turned on the TV, Marvin decided to pretend to watch the TV for about three minutes before reaching for the remote and turning the TV off, receiving a confused look from Jack and a horrified look from Chase “ What?! Hey! Marvin, I was watching that!” Chase yelled “Chase! This is important! I want to talk to Jack!” Marvin replied “That’s what ad breaks are for!” Chase replied, Schneep then gave a Chase a cold stare which made Chase back down very quickly. Jack looked at Marvin “What do you want to talk about Marv?” Jack asked politely, Marvin took a deep breath “Jack… I want you to be honest, have you been having vivid nightmares about Antisepticeye?” Marvin asked severely.

 Jack froze up at the question before answering “N-No! Why would you think that?” he answered nervously, Marvin raised an eyebrow before leaning closer to Jack “ Isn’t it obvious? You turn up late when you never had before, you go into fits where you don’t respond and you look terrified and then, when Henrik mentions Anti’s name, you yelled out in fear when you never had before! So, excuse me for not believing you when you say everything is alright. So, I’m going to ask again, have you been having nightmares about Anti?” Marvin asked sternly, tapping his fingers on the oak table.Jack looked at his three friends with awkward silence, Marvin was still staring sternly at him, waiting for his response. As much as he didn’t want to tell Marvin, due to him most likely overreacting to a nightmare, he knew that Marvin was a very powerful being, able to do magic and can sometimes predict the future. Marvin must be thinking that this could be a sign of Anti’s return, a thought which made Jack uncomfortable. Jack looked at Marvin before looking down, not wanting to answer, Marvin picked up on it “Jack, I’m not doing it to be mean, I’m worried. I don’t want anything to happen to you… please, just tell me the truth” Marvin said in a softer tone. Jack looked up at Marvin before letting his eyes drift over to Schneep and Chase before looking back at Marvin before sighing “Yes… I have been having bad dreams about him” he answered. 

Chase and Schneep looked at each other with fearful concern, Marvin nodded “And… may I ask what happened in these nightmares, Jack?” Marvin asked sincerely, Jack looked at him, not really wanting to do this but he knew that if he didn’t, he will never hear the end of it from Schneep and Marvin. Chase is the only one who understands how Jack would feel and would put Jack’s happiness above everything, even if the others disagreed. Sam hovered over to Jack’s shoulder, chirping softly and nuzzling Jack’s neck, Jack patted the septiceye before sighing “In the dream, I was still in this apartment but Sam was missing, so I went out to the kitchen and… the whole place was covered in blood, I still couldn’t find Sam and then I heard Anti behind me, I tried to fight him but he managed to over power me and the he slit my throat” Jack explained. Marvin nodded and looked away, observing the kitchen nearby before turning back to Jack “And I’m assuming that you saw Anti today, at the cafe?” Marvin inquired, Jack nodded. Chase’s eyes widened “Oh god, buddy, I’m so sorry” Chase stated before walking over to sit next Jack and giving him a hug, Jack returned the gesture quickly “I’m fine, Chase, really” Jack stated, before turning to Marvin and Schnepp “ I don’t know what is happening, guys, maybe it’s just suppressed memories, I want to forget about him, I don’t want to be reminded that he exists but the fans, they want him to appear, they thought he was cool and I can’t say I don’t agree about Anti being cool but… he tries to kill me whenever he gets the chance…” Jack explained “I do not vhink that ze fans want you dead, Jack. I vhink zhey do not know what he can do” Schnepp explained, which made Jack smile.

Marvin stood up and walked over to Jack and grab Jack’s hand, Jack looked up at Marvin “What are you do-” but before he could continue his sentence, Marvin quickly pricked Jack’s finger, getting some blood on a special paper “Ow! Marvin, what was that for?!” Jack asked as Marvin gave the blood sample to Schnepp “Henrik, will you be able to analyze this and tell me if anything is odd about?” Marvin asked quickly, Schnepp slowly took the paper with the blood on it and put it in a clear wallet “yeah… Vhy?” Marvin rolled his eyes “Just do it when you get back to work!” he said with annoyance “Alvight alvight!” Schnepp yelled as he placed the wallet in his pocket. Jack looked at Marvin, who looked back at him “Marvin, what’s going on? Why did you-” Marvin put his hand up to silence Jack “it’s just a precaution. I don’t want Anti to take over your body again like he did that Halloween, so I just need Schnepp to compare that blood sample with the one he got from that halloween” Marvin explained, Jack was about to argue but he knew Marvin well enough to know not to question him so he fell silent. Marvin walked over Jack and hugged him “Oh, Jack, don’t worry. If it’s nothing then we can just get on we things ”“Speaking of” Chase reached over to the remote and switched on the tv, only to be greeted with the ad break “Oh come on!” Chase yelled, Jack and Schnepp laughed as Marvin chuckled “Sorry, Chase” Marvin chuckled, Chase crossed his arms, grumbling. Jack sat down next to Chase and hugged him “Sorry buddy, haha! Never mind, we can still play games if you want or why don’t you show us a trick shot?” Jack suggested, Chase mumbled to himself before answering “Fine… what should I throw?” he asked, Sam flew over and picked up the remote the Chase was holding and motioned towards a glass vase, Chase smiled confidently “Easy” he commented before taking aim. He waited for two seconds before throwing the remote at the glass vase, only to have it shatter.

Chase sat there, frozen for a moment before his gaze slowly drifted towards Jack, only to have Jack burst into laughter followed by everyone else, Chase shrugged his shoulders and laughed along with them.

Adressing The Community

There has been a growing negativity in this community lately, specifically here on Tumblr that I think needs addressing. I’m tired of seeing the community at each other’s throats and my lack of communication on it isn’t helping. 

What was once people posting criticism and feedback has now turned into extremely harsh judgment, personal opinions and outright nasty name calling. That shit is NOT ok. That’s not criticism, it’s unfiltered judgement and hate. You can talk about how I make videos and my job but trying to dictate how I live my personal life and who is in it is crossing a very big line. As soon as you start telling people what to do because of how YOU feel, that’s a really big red flag. My personal life and my relationships in it are not entertainment and shouldn’t be treated as some sort of reality TV. You don’t have to like it and that’s perfectly fine too. I know I’m not perfect and I’ve never pretended to be but sometimes it feels like people put such huge expectations and stanards on my behaviour that it was always bound to let you down at some point. I used to share a lot about myself with you guys. I was incredibly open and talked about everything that was on my mind. This led to more people opening up to me and relating to me heavily which was great, for a while. Eventually I started getting burdened by other people’s mentalities and problems and being the type of person that I am I empathised a lot and tried to help. Not to invalidate what those people were going through but it’s hard to take on other people’s thoughts everyday when I struggled with my own already. Eventually this mentally burned me out and affected my life more than I’d like to admit. I’ve since gotten to a better balance and have closed off more of myself. Not because I care less or don’t want to interact with the community but it’s better for me mentally and that’s always been priority no.1 as it should be with all of you too. 

I’ve seen people say that I have less energy in videos now and that must mean I’m depressed and hate my job but it’s really just me growing up and out of that version of myself. I’m stil positive and I’m still energetic, I just don’t go to 100% all the time anymore because I don’t need to. I’ve matured and I’ve grown a lot and I’m almost 30, of course I’m not going to have the exact same energy I did when I started making vids. I’m not trying to prove myself constantly anymore. That’s either something you come to terms with and grow/mature with me or there’s plenty of other youtubers out there that will likely fit what you want out of them. Sticking around and trying to force me back to that place or destroying the community because you don’t like it is NOT ok. There’s been so much minsinformation thrown around about me too and if you read or hear enough lies about someone, you’ll eventually start to believe them. Toxicity is enticing and spreads really easily. Put yourself in other people’s shoes more before you post stuff. 

I’ve also seen the claim that I repeat jokes too much now and they go on too long but this is feels really misinformed because my channel has always had running jokes that went on a long time. Happy Wheels and Turbo Dismount were both series that had like 5 jokes each repeated for a VERY long time. Now is no different. 

I used to blame myself heavily for the rift that happened in the community but it’s not all on me. I’m just one person and I can point you in the right direction but I shouldn’t have to come back every few months to make posts like this just to make sure people stop arguing and causing drama. There is some really childish and petty behaviour at play that I have never endorsed or encouraged. I shouldn’t have to be here babysitting the community all the time. I’m sorry that I haven’t spoken up sooner and I know this post will likely make some of the more toxic parts of the community flare up even more but I’m tired of feeling like absolute shit because of this stuff. Life’s too short for this shit. I want to have fun with you guys again, not get bogged down in all the tiny details of everything that’s happening.

This community means a LOT to me and I will defend it to the end
