Dair gives strong Theloise vibes and I will never shut up about it!
It's always "hey, what's up" over dms and never: "I’ve read all of these and…I set them aside for you. I thought perhaps you might share your thoughts on them."
More fencer!Eloise, now with Cressida
It would have been fun if someone wrote a fanfic that is a crossover between the movie Anastasia and Bridgerton.
Eloise Bridgerton is then anya/Anastasia, the last Bridgerton alive.
Theo Sharpe is Dimitri the skilled con artist who is also a feminist.
Footman John is Vladimir also a con artist that say he was duke before the war.

The "we'll suit" scene exemplifies this: in order to prove to Eloise that they are compatible, Phillip shows her that they are sexually compatible. He's conflating sexual chemistry with love, which is frustrating to read in a (supposed) romance story. I'm all for conflicts in stories, but they need to be resolved in a satisfying manner.
Thinking I might give it another go, maybe find the slightest hint of something worthwhile about it that could be used for Eloise's season.
Me throughout the re-read
"I hate Sir Phillip, I hate Sir Phillip, I hate Sir Phillip"
Guy starts off bad and then gets worse. Eloise slowly loses her soul and her spirit trying to accommodate him. Sir Phillip has to be one of the most selfish, lazy, loathsome characters I have ever read, and he doesn't get better, he doesn't improve, he doesn't actually do anything to be worthy of Eloise's love, he just gets coddled.
he delights that he's got a sex doll who takes care of his house and kids for hmi and he thinks that's love. He tells Eloise she isn't allowed to be unhappy in their marriage, despite the fact he ignores her all through the day except for when he wants sex, because he had it worse.
This is the conclusion by the way. This is them having their happily ever after. This is how the conflict is resolved. Phillip ordering Eloise to be happy, and Eloise feeling so guilty she agrees.
Kill Sir Phillip. Kill him with fire.
I swear to God if they keep Eloise with him in the show and he is anything like his book character, I'm throwing a shoe at my TV.
