I will say this about the beatles: It is literally impossible for me to imagine John as alive and old like Paul and Ringo. He's become such a mythologized figure, he's like a statue or monument more than he is a person, a legend in music history. His death solidified his place in history and its terrible and makes his presence and name an awe inspiring thing.
