notes: the feeling when you see a previous lover on the street but apparently he lost his magic???

Who? @vincenzodives

Her first clue that something has changed drastically is when she doesn’t sense him. As a witch, and one she is more than acquainted with, Vinny’s presence should have pinged on her metaphorical radar.  It doesn’t. Instead, she realizes his presence in Rome by coincidence. After her recent appointment to Chancellorship, she had taken to slipping away to Rome whenever her work was done. The responsibilities are new, and while not fully overwhelming, they are a lot for someone who had never believed she would inherit them. The Autumn nobles might have elected her, but everyone had expected Fen’harel to last for another few millennia at the least. The realization of their betrayal had been shocking beyond compare, and had shaken the very foundations of what she had known of her court. As such, Robin takes her free time to wander around Rome and ponder over the changes, over the reality and the truth, trying to see all angles, to understand them.

It’s a tad different this time, as she had gone out of her way to visit the gelato shop in order to get something sweet while she thinks. Robin’s choice had been a whim, set forth by her clairvoyance and taken in the last second. To find one of her previous lovers, and a good friend, on the shop is a pleasant surprise. To realize that he had seemingly lost his magic, is not. She hadn’t even realized his presence within the shop until she had turned around to leave, catching a glimpse of him sitting on the corner. The breath had been stolen from her lungs as the realization hit, and she had nearly spilled her gelato on the hurry to get to his table.

“I would say this is a pleasant surprise, sunshine,” she tells him, sending him a warm smile before her expression turns worried once more. “But I cannot sense your magic, which concerns me. Are you alright? Can I help?”

Flora is shelving books, consumed with thoughts and worries of her own when the fey’s voice trickles through her reverie. After listening to the Fey in full, she motions for the other to fall her to a more private secluded part of the library. “What do you want?” her voice is clear and does not relent an inch, it is held in the lines of Flora’s body that she doesn’t wish to be fucked with. It would do better for her if no one was to gain knowledge of the occasional tumble between the sheets that started off with strangers and led to battle lines being drawn. She didn’t want Wade to be a sacrificial lamb but in the end, she will stand with the Wolves against those that try to chain them or cage them.

...

Floratitus:

“I am not here to fight, Miss Titus, merely to let you know that I have made my choice regarding Wade and that my loyalty to my people remain firm,” Robin tells her clearly, not looking to pick a fight with the lycan when she had meant to merely talk to her in the first place. Her entry might not have been the subtlest, but there is still bitterness when she thinks of Wade’s wavering loyalties. “I care about him, but at this point it is clear he is willing to risk the safety of New Rome to protect himself and thus, I need to ask you not to warn him that I desire to use him to get a better grip on the Eye. Most of my own spies cannot be compromised, and Wade is the only other hunter whose name I know.”

Burak recognized her almost immediately. The Eladrin that has continued to get in his way in his search for the Eye. Time and time again, they ended up at the same point of where they’d been tipped off too. In part, he knew that it wasn’t her fault nor her doing that prevented him from the knowledge that he sought, but he would still blame her, anyway. For who else could his blame lie with? Yet — he was favorable for the help she lent, as terrors and creatures alike were decimated under her power. “Fine, but don’t even think about getting in my way,” he shot back, the axe he’d brought to accompany his costume already covered in the blood of their enemies.

...

“I would be getting on your way?” The look she sends him is incredulous as she allows the wall of flame to drop just as she jumps forward, sword sweeping in an arc to take a couple of terror’s heads in the process. Perhaps she can understand the lycan’s annoyance, as the two of them have been finding themselves following the same leads regarding the Eye and losing important preys due to their coincidental meetings, and yet, she cannot be annoyed. Not when she is amused and mildly endeared instead. It is always good to have more people bend on the Eye’s destruction as she is, even if said people are arrogant as him. “Really?”

Who?@farenduil Where? The Cemetery

"I hear you can now be considered a DILF," she mentions, raising one of the glasses she is carrying to offer to the princeling. Is she mildly irritated that he is walking around when his daughter is nearby? Sure, but it's not the kids fault, and she doubts Farenduil realizes how privileged he is to have the right to meet his children. She will have to warn him about the Eyes movements at some point, though, what with their interest in halfblooded blood and all that jazz. "Congratulations are in order, Faren. Or should I call you daddy?"

She had no intentions of doing so, but she is curious to see his reaction.

"If that is how you feel, there is nothing else to say about it. However, if you ever need my aid in this matter, I will do so freely, as a repayment for the transparency." There is something rotten about having to word their relationship as transactional, but there is a desire to respect Inan's boundaries and they have time to build on the fragile trust he had chosen to extend to her after Fen'harel's betrayal. "I will, yes. I am curious to see what this Count is capable on this matter. You?"

"If That Is How You Feel, There Is Nothing Else To Say About It. However, If You Ever Need My Aid In

"That's not my intention for coming here," Inan was not looking for permission, "I only wanted to be transparent." He thought carefully over his words to follow, elves had to be mindful of such things but whenever Inan spoke it was from the heart. "My brother died long ago, I won't know a drow renowned for terrorizing my people." Even if it hurt to think of Somniar as such, it didn't make the notions any less true. Onto some brighter tidings, Inan had also been meaning to ask, "Will you be attending the party in the mortal realm?"

Here he was, pulling off a feat that most couldn’t even fathom, and yet again Zahrya had a sneaking suspicion his miracles were underappreciated. While this normally would bother him, he’s enjoying himself too much. The looks of shock delight him, the expressions of disgust are committed to memory. He wondered if those same individuals would still look at changelings like that if they were to become one…

Robin unintentionally saves someone from being whisked away and made to find out by Zahrya’s hand with her statement. It’s strange the customs mortals come up with to celebrate their insignificant holidays. “I would never take part in such an activity,” the creature groans out, its noises resembling speech as closely as Zahrya could compel. “Leave the bones of the deceased in the ground to feed the plants. Throwing them at me would do no good.” The young ones were always trying to get him to assimilate. Why would he want to be associated with a species who found pleasure in tossing the remains of their fallen at each other?

...

Zahryaofspring:

For a moment, Robin is so very glad that she has become quite adept at maintaining what humans call a poker face, because if she had not, the possibility of her bursting into inappropriate laughter after Zahrya’s retort would have been a reality and not just a possibility. That wouldn’t have done. While she quite enjoys talking to the Chancellor as if they were her pears, she would never openly insult them without a built rapport between them. Aurora is a rather different case, as they were friends and occasional lovers before she became Winter Chancellor, but Zahrya? As she is not of the Spring Court, and nowhere near his age, she is not as close to the Chancellor. Insulting him with inappropriate laughter wouldn’t do —

But revealing what she meant would. After all, she did mean her comment as it had been honest. Perhaps relieving some of the tensions he has been carrying since Titania’s imprisonment would help calm down the near manic energy the spring eladrin is exuding.

“Pardon me for the misunderstanding, Zahrya, ‘boning’ is a mortal euphenism for sex,” she explains patiently, an innocent smile on her face as she speaks, showing no hint of shame at the topic of conversation. “I am just suggesting that perhaps having relations with an attractive individual might help you enjoy the festivities, as many chose to do in Hollow’s Eve.”

“Fortunately he’s apparently less skilled at hunting fey than he is demons, one would assume anyways.” Came Laer’s simple offer, he was glad that Robin was still alive, they didn’t have much in the way of a personal connection but she was a chancellor and any loss of fey life was a tragedy. That a single, simply human had gotten the best of her was worrying, “You should keep this encounter to yourself, I won’t tell anyone else.” He could only imagine how people would talk, how opinions of her place among the chancellorship might change. Zahrya, Aurora, and himself would have returned with the human’s head or a newly-minted changeling had they been placed in Robin’s position. Weakness of youth, mortals deserved little consideration as far as the Summer chancellor was concerned - particularly those that had affiliated themselves with the Eye. “That alpha was adamant that we should focus our efforts on the Eye, maybe you can bend your vengeance towards his. I can only imagine that there are copious amounts of our own kind in their cells.”

image

....

“I had enough foresight to at least keep it that way,” she offers, a grim smile on her lips as she avoids the entire truth of the encounter. There is no other survivor but Wade, after all, and bringing further vengeance upon him will make her plans useless. She needs to get to the Eye through him, meaning he is only useful to her as long as he is alive. And when he stops being useful? Well, Robin had seen how conflicted he had been at hurting her, she had taught him that not all supernatural creatures were evil, knows that he believes so. What better way to get revenge but to show him that he is the same sort of monster that had killed his family? When she sees the despair on his eyes, when she sees that he realizes how far he has fallen, that is when he will deny, tortured by the reality of his actions, rather than alleviated by the salvation that fulfilling his self-assigned mission would bring him. “I will keep it to myself, yes,” she nods in agreement. ‘And I have heard the alpha’s argument. I am thinking on reaching out to one of the members of the pack to begin the planning in a few days.”
