Dark eyes watched as the creature that Robin pulled him from rotted and disintegrated, his skin melted off the bone and Yavie smirked at the effects of the fall eladrin’s rot magic. Violence had hardened something in him, these vampires had been eyeing them all night, this seemed almost inevitable. He’d have to find Hayliel, though considering the nature of the fallen’s blood he didn’t think that the man had much to worry about tonight. More accurate to say would be that Hayliel needed to find him, because Yavie had work to do and planned on having a great deal of fun along the way.

“Faren left just after the reception started,” Yavie remembered the man dancing with his daughter and the complication emotions that inspired. Grief was there too. He’d have to ask Farenduil what that was all about. The last time he’d seen Meryasek the prince had just walked in on him and Hayliel… Well… They were preoccupied at the time. “I haven’t seen anyone else since things got crazy.” Yavie looked the other up and down, Robin didn’t seem any worse for wear but the night was young.

There is a pause as she absorbs Yavie’s words and she nods in understanding, even as her eyes narrow both in consideration and at the lack of response to her question. There is a brief moment of relief at the information that Farenduil is not present amidst the current festivities, but that does not mean nobody else is.

“Are you alright?” she repeats deliberately, not willing to let it go when she had sensed so much pain and misery already. Yavie is her friend, has been her friend for centuries, and she refuses to lose him, not now when she fears she will lose more members of her court before the night is over.

“Ex-boyfriend?” Lain continued to guess, a little smirk on his lips. Not that he would judge her for falling into bed with a hunter, everyone made mistakes after all and Lain himself made plenty. The flirtatious tone of her voice caught him off guard, it was so unexpected.  Reflexively he glanced over his shoulder expecting to see someone else standing behind him, because this type of attention was never aimed at him.  Either hated or ignored, that’s how he skirted along the edge of society. “Well, I can think of plenty of things you could do to me as a thanks, but I’m not sure how professional you’re trying to keep this,” The lycan admitted with a nervous chuckle, meeting her gaze.  Lain stepped closer, gently taking her chin in his hand as he studied her face.  Up close like this it became obvious to Lain why so many mortals always fell for the fae. She was beautiful, in an otherworldly sort of way, alien to this realm. He let out a soft sigh, “You’re too pretty to be trying to hook up with lycans, you know that?  What if I give you fleas?”

...

“That would make me as petty as legends describe the fey to be,” Robin says with genuine amusement this time as she quirks her brow as if to invite the lycan to deny it. It’s a common belief, and they are not entirely wrong, for she knows herself and she knows she is petty. There is no denying it, not when she has lived long enough not to have any delusions regarding her personality. “But no, he is not an ex-boyfriend.” Ex-friend, a loved one who had betrayed her, Wade is all those things but as handsome as the lycan before her is, Robin is not one to give too much away to strangers. Not even helpful ones. Not even one with a cute little chuckle of nerves. The poor dear seems surprised, as if she would eat him up and isn’t that darling? There is no need for her to tilt her head back when he steps closer, for they are the same height, and she feels a delighted grin curl on her lips at the juxtaposition between boldness and nerves. “I am perfectly capable of separating work and pleasure, and not one to deny myself if I find someone pretty enough to catch my eye,” she tells him, smile playful and all teeth. “Now, that is my decision isn’t it?” Robin asks tilting her head in inquiry even as she keeps her eyes focused on Lain. “And if fleas were truly a concern, a bath and a cleansing spell would suffice. And there is nothing to say we cannot have fun while wet, is there?”

Who? @yaviefey

“I am aware that the Faerie King’s Forest is not the same as the Courts, but you are missed Yavie.” The words are said simply as she comes to stand near her fellow autumn fey, looking around curiously as she tries to figure out if he has been staying nearby or not. “Additionally, I must apologize, I have not been a great friend for the last couple of months and I regret it. Let me make it up to you?”

A sense of disgust and self-recrimination settles in the back of her throat every time she thinks of Lain. Their encounter had been inevitable, it had been a reminder. For all the lycan was fun and interesting, he was mortal as they come. Alive one moment, gone the next. A passing fancy that could not grow beyond that for the pure and simple truth of inevitable with death. She knows that it is inevitable that she will mourn him when his time comes, but she cannot love him. Not when his lifetime will be the blink of her eye, and she needs to ensure she is a source of steadiness for her people.

It is this truth that stays her hand, that keeps her from seeking Lain as soon as the war ends. But their encounter is not inevitable, so when her clairvoyance tells her of his attempt to contact her, Robin does nothing but sigh and follow the direction her magic takes her towards. She gets close enough to hear his attempt to manifest her from thin air, and she cannot help the giggle that echoes through the woods as she steps into the clearing that Lain had found himself in. Her brow is raised as she takes in the lycan, but she shows him her hand to show him that she is not going to attack.

"That is one way to summon me, dearest wolf," she mentions, fondness undercut by the quiet apology on her tone. "What would have happened if I had not been on my way to meet?"

A Sense Of Disgust And Self-recrimination Settles In The Back Of Her Throat Every Time She Thinks Of

Where: The Forest, outskirts of Lupercal

Notes: sorry I tried to kill you, can we still be friends at least?

He had selfishly avoided this confrontation for weeks.  The elves were a capricious bunch, it was possible that Robin might decide to finish the job her changeling had started the moment she saw his face.  But it was worth a shot.  She deserved closure, as well as an apology for his actions.  As terrible as Lain saw himself, he drew the line at hurting the few people he cared about. Species that lacked the heightened sense of smell that lycans were gifted with could have easily gotten lost in the expanse of the wilderness, but Lain could easily visualize his own scent trail that would lead him back home.  He kept rehearsing what he was going to say to Dawn chancellor when he finally found her, but knew that there was no way he could articulate his feelings as perfectly as it all sounded in his head. “Robin!” The lycan called out, “I just want to talk!” He stopped walking, focusing on listening for the faint indicators of any signs of life that were not his own that the sound of the leaves crunching under his feet obscured. Lain could pick up on the quick thrumming of multiple heartbeats, but all of them sounded far too small to belong to anything humanoid sized.  Likely just a rabbit or a squirrel. Fuck, where was she?

who? @assanx

where? the streets of rome

Who? @assanx

“Please tell me the next session is to take place, I truly need the amusement,” Robin pleads playfully as she falls into step next to Assan, shoulders not quite tense as her eyes keep flickering around, trying to find members of the Eye amidst the crowd as they walk. With Assan by her side, she feels her shoulders relax, knowing he will have her back, but the paranoia still remains if lessened. There is truly too much happening in Rome with the Eye and the Asphodel and the Drows in the Otherworld, and she desperately needs some time to relax with her best friend. “We left it to such a cliffhanger too, and I am at the edge of my seat.”

“I would have ensured you were safe for the rest of the night,” she shrugs. She might have been violating the Senate’s rules by revealing the supernatural, but really, he was currently in a vampire lead party. By this point, not telling him would be clear endangerment, and she might have been willing to send her birds into the Eye, but letting a clueless human be devoured by beasts he didn’t recognize would weight on her conscience. “There might be laws about this, but truly, who would dare to judge me, when we met in a vampire party? It’s a fair assumption to believe all guests are in the know, as you are .”

“I Would Have Ensured You Were Safe For The Rest Of The Night,” She Shrugs. She Might Have Been Violating

Rowan takes a second to blink at what is obviously someone not just mortal. If he didn’t know, she’d have just outed the supernatural to him and he figured that was a big ‘hell no’ kind of thing to do. He would know, he got real members of the community knocking down the proverbial door of his inbox. And he always told him that other humans just thought he was a really good storyteller, no harm no foul. “And if I didn’t know, what were you going to do?” He looks up from the wares he’s browsing to look at her, deadpan. “I am armed with knowledge, I contain multitudes.” That’s blunt too, despite the slight nod of his head to affirm it.

Who? @chancellorxlaer Where? Laurelin, Audulë  Notes: Doing The Randomize Top Songs Thing And Got De

There is no denying the wonder she always feels as she sees the Laurelin standing tall above all the courts. A stalwart reminder of everything they had fought for, everything they had survived, and everything they had suffered over the past year, and what they would have suffered had the future not changed. Titania had sacrificed everything for them, and she guesses the other five had too, and for that and that alone, she had lifted her curse. Peace is required for now, but the Dusk Court will not forget. Their kind long life lends for long grudges, and Robin will ensure that her people are not endangered by the Eye once more.

She will make sure of it.

"How fares your Court? Have you finished building it?" She inquires as she feels the Sun Chancellor approach, the shimmering heat of the deserts that have begun to grow bordering her territory.
