After months of jumping from many different motels in different states, you never expected to come back to the state you had left; it was late at night but you could see very clearly the sign for Jericho passing you by as you drove up towards the bridge Constance Welch had jumped off of. The last motel you were at in this state, you had busied yourself by reading the newspaper, which had an article that caught your attention. There were disappearances of men that had gone back ten years, all of them occurring on the similar road.
You thought that maybe, just maybe, you could investigate and see what this all was about. It could’ve been demonic, or it could’ve been paranormal. Ever since meeting the Halliwells, you were dead set on learning all about the Supernatural. It came familiar to you. And although you didn’t have the three sisters by your side, you couldn’t back down from this.
But as you were getting closer to the bridge, you found your car suddenly coming to a slow stop as it made a noise that concerned you in more ways than one. “Aw, shit.” You muttered underneath your breath when you realized your car had broken down and by the looks of it, you were in the middle of no where. Absolutely no one was in sight to help you out, or so you thought.
You expected this to happen, as it was a little over seventeen years old. Your adoptive father had passed it down to you as soon as you had gotten your driver’s license at the age of sixteen. But you never expected this to happen today.
You tried your best to restart the engine, but you finally gave up after three attempts. A defeated sigh escaped your mouth as you unbuckled your seat belt and grabbed the bag that sat in the passenger side of the car all before popping the trunk open and exiting your vehicle.
You slammed the door shut in frustration and carried your backpack all the way over to the trunk, where your suitcases full of clothes would be and another duffel bag stashed away in the corner. You unzipped your suitcases and started shoving as many clothes as you could in to the two bags that would be easy enough to carry. You didn’t feel like dragging your suitcases all the way to the bus station after you were done with this investigation.
Happy with the outfits you had managed to get into both of the bags, you slammed the trunk shut before situating each bag onto one of your shoulders. They were a bit heavy for you, but you’d have to deal with it if you wanted more clothing than just the outfit you were already wearing.
You started walking up to the bridge and then across it. But you found yourself stopping right in your tracks when you could see a car just few feet away from where you were standing. You wondered if it was another victim who had disappeared, until you heard the sounds of two men arguing.
Dropping your bags towards the ground, you ran over to where the sound was coming from to see two men who seemed to be in their twenties. The shorter one had the other pinned up against one of the large, metal posts. It seemed as though he had pissed him off, possibly by something he had said, or something he had done. Either way, you couldn’t let this go on for much longer. One wrong move, and one of them could end up falling straight into the water.
“Hey!” You called out to the two men as you headed forward to them. Neither of them expected there to be somebody else on this bridge, but before they both had the chance to pull away, you were already prying the shorter man off of the taller one. “What the hell is going on? You could have killed him!”
“Please,” The man scoffed at what you were saying, as if you were crazy. “He’s my brother, I wouldn’t kill him no matter how much he pisses me off.”
You almost found yourself stumbling forward when he yanked himself out of your grasp, but you caught yourself before putting your full focus onto him as he turned around to face you. And just like that, you felt yourself freezing up when you saw a familiar face, one that you didn’t think you’d ever see again; Dean Winchester, the only man you ever found yourself truly loving was standing right in front of you and it didn’t take so long to see that he recognized you as well.
This was similar to how you both met the very first time when you were in high school back when you still lived in Indiana with your adoptive parents. He wasn’t there for very long and he knew that, so he decided to make the most of his time there and pull a prank on you and your entire cheer team. You were rehearsing, but as you were doing so, he had swapped out the CD with a completely different one and it had thrown everyone off guard. While the other girls were talking amongst themselves, wondering what the hell had happened, you had noticed Dean walking out of the gym with his head held high.
You had no idea who he was at the time, but you still followed him out of the room to catch up to him. You were extremely annoyed with him for ruining your practice, but things changed when you both met eye to eye. You went weak in the knees, and you fell hard for him. He caught feelings for you, too. Harder than he had fallen for any other girl because in his eyes, you were different. But things were broken off due to the fact he had to leave with his dad again.
Dean’s lips stretched into a smile after the longest time of just staring at you in disbelief. The first girl he had ever loved was standing right in front of him and it came as a completely surprise to him. “Hey, Y/N.”
“Dean?” You spoke his name as if it were a question, a wide grin stretched across your lips as you suddenly stepped forward and wrapped your arms around his neck, embracing him in a tight hug.
Sam Winchester, his younger brother, felt his expression fall into a look of confusion as he stared at the both of you. He didn’t expect there to be someone on this bridge, let alone someone that his brother knew. But when he repeated your name over and over in his mind, it suddenly clicked. How could he not have remembered you from the very start? You had helped him out with his bully problem by giving him some advice that he found helpful in a way, and due to that, he grew a little crush on you. Of course, he couldn't say anything. Because you were dating his brother.
“Y/N? As in Y/N Y/L/N?” Sam spoke up towards you as you and Dean pulled away from each other.
You nodded your head, happy to see the Winchester brothers again after so many years. Even though you didn’t quite know why they were here. “That’s right. Hi, Sammy.” You greeted the younger man. You watched as a wide smile stretched across his lips from the sight of you, immediately stepping forward and engulfing you into a hug. “My god, you guys look so much more different than how you did in high school, all grown up, I barely even recognized you!”
“Look who’s talking.” Sam chuckled at what you were saying as you pulled away from each other. “What are you doing here?”
You let out a nervous chuckle from the man’s question before falling silent. You didn’t exactly know how to tell him you were checking out a case that could possibly lead you to a ghost you’d have to get rid of. “Well, I-..” You were about give him a lie, but you could see an expression on both of the boy’s faces that suddenly made you feel uneasy at they stared off into a different direction.
You turned your head to see what they were looking at; You saw a woman in white standing on top of the railing. She looked at the three of you for a few moments. You watched as she slowly eased herself closer to the ledge, all until what you could see was the flash of white fabric blowing in the wind, until it vanished too.
The three of you quickly ran to the ledge, frantically looking for the woman. But she disappeared from sight, as if she was never there. “Where did she go?” Dean demanded, looking at the water below.
“I don’t know.” Sam confessed. Then the sound of an engine rang inside your ears, your eyebrows furrowed. You turned your head to see the headlights of the car you had seen just moments ago was turned on as the engine purred once more. Something wasn’t right about this.
“Who’s driving that car?” You asked. You looked up at Dean, who didn’t take his eyes off the car as he dug into his coat pocket, pulling out the keys, making you realize that it was his car. You gulped in fear. The sounds of tires squealing against the pavement rang inside your ears, you couldn’t help yourself but look at the car like a deer in headlights, watching as the car came straight at you.
You heard of ghosts possessing humans, but you have never knew of a ghost to possess an object, let alone, a freaking car. But of course, this kind of thing was bound to cross your line of sight eventually. Hell, you’ve lived with three witches, who fought off so many demons and other monsters you thought could never exist.
You felt someone grab a hold of your hand, yanking you from your thoughts as you began running for your life. You tried your hardest to keep up with the boys, Dean was practically dragging you along as he kept pace with his brother. The three of you turned to the right and jumped off the bridge and straight into the water.
When the water engulfed your body, it felt like a thousand needles dug into your skin, the temperature was at least below zero. After swimming your way to the top, you tried your hardest to drag yourself out, but your body felt like it weighed a ton from your soaked clothes. Someone called your name as you finally found yourself touching the muddy ground. You grunted in disgust as you pulled yourself next to Dean, who looked about as worse as you.
Both of you were covered in a layer of mud. All you could do was lay on the ground, catching your breath from the rush of excitement. Sam’s laugh echoed as you turned your head to look up, he was sitting on the ledge, looking at you two with a huge grin. He was the only smart one that held on to the ledge, and he was mocking you for it. You reached your arm up and flipped him off.
When you and Dean finally made it back up to the bridge, the first thing that Dean asked about was his car. “Yeah, whatever she did to it, it seems all right now.” Sam commented, looking at the Impala.
“That Constance chick- what a bitch!” Dean shouted into the air as if she was standing right in front of the three of you. Of course, nothing happened.
“Well, she didn’t want us digging around, that’s for sure.” Sam remarked, watching as his brother sat down on the hood of the car. He followed a few seconds later.
“How come you guys didn’t freak out when you saw her?” You couldn’t help yourself but curiously ask. The brothers both looked at you, as Dean wondered the same thing. “Let’s just say I know a lot about the Supernatural. And I especially came across a few situations like the past few years.”
“So, you’re a hunter too?” Dean asked, feeling a little bit of joy from what he was hearing. You raised a brow up at the strange term he used. Did he mean hunter as in killing deer and any other animal that lived out on the woods? It seemed he got your look, as he explained what he and his brother did. “Going after all of the supernatural. Sam and I are hunters.”
Sam shook his head at the label his brother put on him. “I’m not a hunter, I’m a college student, Dean and my dad are the hunters.”
You nodded your head in understandment as a small smile stretched across your lips. “Yeah, I guess you guys can call me a hunter.” You were lying right through your teeth right now and you hated that, but the boys were hunters of the supernatural and the people you looked up to as family were witches, if either of them were to find out about them, they, especially Dean, would not even want to associate himself with you no matter how much he still loved you. The Halliwell sisters have ran into witch hunters many times during their life. Hunters of the supernatural were no different.
“So, where does the trail go from here, genius?” Sam asked his brother, breaking you from your thoughts as he sat on the hood of the Impala right next to his brother.
You tugged on your smelly shirt, gagging in disgust from the smell that lingered off. “I need to shower.” You grunted out. Sam leaned over and sniffed you and you crinkled your nose and gave him a look at his weird behavior.
“You smell like a toilet,” He commented. You rolled your eyes, trying to control the urge to throw him off the bridge and make him suffer the same fate that you and his brother had.
~~~
“Two rooms please,” Dean dropped his master-card on top of the motel registry. It was morning by the time you and the boys found a motel. The older man on the other side of the deck picked up the card and looked it over, never commenting on the smell that you must be giving off by now.
“You guys having a reunion or something?” The man asked, taking his time to observe the name on the card. You gave the man a curious look. “That other guy, Bert Afarmian. He came in and bought out a room for the whole month.”
Both boys looked at one another, quickly paying for the rooms and heading off. Instead of getting yourselves settled, the three of you stopped at a room you were suddenly growing curious about to take a peek around. You watched as Sam picked the lock for a few seconds, until the door swung open. Dean stepped inside while Sam grabbed you by the back of your jacket and tugged you inside, breaking your concentration after watching out for what they were doing.
Your eyes wandered around the state of the room you were pulled into; photographs and strings of yarn were tacked to the walls, there was objects spread across the furniture, an odd smell lingered around the air. You watched as Dean went over and turned on the light. Noticing that there was a half eaten hamburger resting below the lamp. He picked it up and took a whiff, but quickly throwing it back down and groaned. That explained the smell.
“I don’t think he’s been here for a couple days, at least.” Dean said, turning his head to look at his brother, who was kneeling and observing a ring of salt.
“Salt, cat’s-eye shells.” Sam muttered, looking around at the contents of the room. “He was worried, trying to keep something from coming in.”
“Who is he?” You couldn’t help yourself but wonder who the boys were talking about.
“Our dad.” Dean answered your question. You asked him if Bert was actually their father, of course, that name was just a cover up so no one could seem too suspicious. “His real name is John, I’ve told you about him a lot when we were in high school, I thought.”
You shrugged your shoulders and mumbled, “I guess I don’t remember those I never met.”
Sam stood back up and headed over to his brother, bringing you two back to what you were here for. “What do you got here?” Sam questioned. You followed in suit, your eyes wandered over a board full of photographs of victims and information scribbled below.
“Centennial highway victims.” Dean commented, observing the work his father done. “I don’t get it. I mean, different men, different jobs, age, ethnicity. There’s always a connection, right?”
Sam turned around and headed over to the walls across from the two of you. Not giving it much interest, you looked over your shoulder to see what Sam had found. When your eyes landed on the pictures of burning bodies and a skeleton with a group of people, you were taken back by the dark content.
“What do these guys have in common?” Dean asked, ignoring the fact that you and Sam followed another trail full of other articles or small drawings that must’ve dated back a few centuries to this millennium .
“Dad figured it out,” Sam said, his eyes never leaving the little section.
“What do you mean?” Dean asked, walking over to the two of you.
“Hey, he found the same article I did.” Your finger tapped against the paper, pointing out the article the three of you had been previously reading. “Constance Welch. She’s a Woman in White.”
Dean turned and looked over at the victims, a smirk spread across his face. “You sly dogs.” He amused himself. “All right, so if we’re dealing with a woman in white, dad would have found the corpse and destroyed it.”
“She might have another weakness.” Sam suggested.
“No, Dad would want to make sure. He’d dig her up. Does it say where she’s buried?” Dean asked, heading over to look at the article again.
“Not that I can tell.” Sam said, looking at the photograph of Constance. “If I were Dad, though, I would go ask her husband,” His fingers tapped against the picture of Joseph. “If he’s still alive.”
“All right why don’t you go look for an address?” Dean added, tearing his eyes away from the picture posted below the article. “I’m gonna get cleaned up.”
You nodded your head in agreement, tugging on the mud that was now hardening on your clothes and making it awkward to walk. You headed over to the door, but Sam’s voice stopped the both of you.
“Hey, Dean, what I said earlier about Mom and Dad- I’m sorry.” Sam apologized to his brother, you could see the guilt written across his face.
Dean raised his hand up, stopping his brother. “No chickflick moments.”
Sam laughed, smiling at his brother. “All right, jerk.”
“Bitch.” Dean sassed back.
You blinked a few times at what had just happened between the brothers. This is something you sure have never seen before when you had met them once before. “You guys are such.. dorks.” You told them, leaving them a remark they both laughed at. You couldn’t help yourself but to join in on the laughter all before you stepped outside of the room and headed to your own.
~~~
After taking a much needed shower to get that disgusting mud off your hair and body, you emerged from the bathroom with fresh clothes on. Your bare feet walked across the motel carpet before you slipped on a pair of new shoes, hating the fact that you had to throw away your favorite pair. But there was a chance you could get the smell out of it, and it would take a miracle to scrub through the thick layer of dirt caked on. As you began putting your dirty clothes and shampoo back into your bag that sat on top of your bed, knocking at the door caused you to stop in your actions. You stood for a few seconds, listening as you heard the person knock again before they spoke up.
“Open up, it’s me.” You recognized the voice as Dean. Letting out a sigh of relief, you headed to the door and opened it up, taking notice that he had washed himself.
The beloved, beat up leather jacket was never far from his outfit. One of the many things you had remembered he told you that it was a gift from his father. You secretly loved it on him, and you didn’t know it, but he loved it on you when he let you wear it one day after school as he walked you to your home. It was fall around the time you two were in high school and you forgot your jacket back in your locker, but you were all too exhausted to go back to get it.
“You clean up well.” You said, a smile spreading across your lips.
“I’m heading to the diner down the street. Wanna come with me?” He asked.
“Is Aframin paying?” He nodded his head, you shrugged your shoulders. “Why not. I wouldn’t mind having a decent meal before heading to jail for identity theft.”
You closed the door behind you and walked down the stairs with Dean, falling into a comfortable silence as you headed to the car. But seconds later you felt his hand wrap around your wrist and pull you backwards. You gave him a confused glance at his behavior. He nodded his head to his right. You looked over to see there was a cop car, standing next to it was the two deputies the brothers had ran into earlier and the motel man that checked you in, he pointed at the both of you.
You turned around, cursing underneath your breath. You watched as Dean pulled out his cell phone, making a call to his brother for him to take off. At least he could make it out. You and Dean were about to go to prison for whatever crime the police discovered.
“Stay calm, I’ll handle this.” Dean muttered as the both of you turned around to see the two deputies had approached the both of you. He flashed a smile at the both of them, seeming innocent enough. “Problem officers?”
“Where is your partner?” Deputy Jaffe questioned, crossing his arms over his chest. It seemed that he wasn’t in the mood for any funny business that Dean was trying to pull over on him to get out of this situation. His eyes trailed over to you, wondering who the hell you were. But he kept his questions to himself as he looked back at Dean when the man spoke up.
“Partner? What-What partner?” Dean stuttered out, you could tell he was trying to act innocent. He looked over at you and smiled. Suddenly you felt him wrapping his hands around your waist and pulling you into his chest. “I was just taking my girl out for a quick lunch. Is that crime, sir?” You felt his hands slowly slide to your butt, squeezing it for some effect. You bit your lip, blushing at what he had just done.
But it didn’t help, the other deputy headed to the motel where Sam was still in, panic slowly set inside of you when you realized he was the only person that could get you out of this. You only hoped that he somehow managed to get out before it was too late.
“So fake U.S. Marshal, fake credit cards. You got anything that’s real?” Deputy Jaffe asked.
“My boobs.” Dean remarked, chuckling at his dumb comment that he thought was amusing. It was just the nail in the coffin. You shook your head knowing what was coming next.
You watched the deputy pulled out a pair of handcuffs, he started repeating the Miranda Rights you’ve heard before, considering how an old friend of yours was a cop. The metal clicked together as you felt your hands become restrained behind your back.
You were roughly dragged down and pushed down against the hood of the police car. Dean was slammed down as the deputy read his rights. You’ve been to jail once before for doing something you hadn’t done, but Paige managed to get you out with just a simple orb. Now, you were on your own.
~~~
You sat inside a small interrogation room, both your wrists were cuffed to the table so you wouldn’t go anywhere. It felt like hours of you just sitting in this chair and watching the tinted glass window dance with shadows of each person that walked by. You kept thinking that each one passing by was going to be an officer telling you that your entire life was over. What were you going to say when one showed up?
You held your breath as you watched the door slowly open, waiting for some balding man to tell you that your life was over, it was going to be twenty to life in prison for the crime. But when you saw a flash of sandy blonde hair and green eyes, you found yourself breathing normally again. Dean snuck himself through the door without being caught and closed it quietly behind him. “What the hell are you doing here?” You whispered, watching as he headed to you. He slammed something down before pulling out a silver object from his pocket. It took you a second to realize it was a paper clip he must have found.
“I’m here to bust you out, sweetheart.” He mumbled, leaning over so he could start picking at the handcuffs to get you free.
“My hero.” You said, a small smile coming to your face as you glanced over at the leather journal that was sitting just inches from you. “What’s that?” You curiously asked, reaching to take a peek at it right after your hands became free. But Dean was quick to snatch it away before you had a chance to touch it, he shoved it into his jacket.
“I’ll explain later. We need to get out here before the cops come back.” Dean said.
Both of you escaped to an empty hallway that lead towards an office with a possible way to escape. It seemed that something was going on with the amount of noise and chaos that could be heard from behind the door. You watched as Dean peeked his out the window where you could hear officers running around the place and leaving one by one. After a few minutes, everything became silent. You watched as Dean opened the door and slowly walk in and disappearing. A minute later, he returned with a leather pouch, you were quick to notice the guns that peeked out.
“Are you trying to get us arrested again?” You hissed at him, taken back by what he had stolen for whatever reason.
He rolled his eyes and pulled out two weapons; he handed one to you and then putting the one back into the pouch. “Have you ever shot a gun before?” He asked, you nodded your head, although you only shot a gun once in your lifetime, you still remembered everything. “Good.”
You followed behind as Dean lead you to the end of the hall. You opened it up and suddenly felt a rush of cold air, you looked to see that you were just a step away from the rooftop.
“It’s for protection, just in case something happens.” Dean muttered as he began walking to the edge. You rolled your eyes and saw what he was looking for. You pushed him out of the way and headed down the metal ladder first.
You landed on your feet when you had to jump from the large gap from where the ladder ended. You watched as Dean quickly caught up and ran out of the alleyway you found yourselves in. Dean headed to a payphone after yours were confiscated from the cops. He made a call to Sam, standing outside and looking around at the nighttime scenery.
“Fake 911 phone call, Sammy? That’s pretty illegal.” You heard Dean speak through the phone. His voice was happy sounding, as if he was proud of his brother. It was quiet for a few moments until Dean spoke up again.
“Listen, we got to talk.” Sam must be talking on the other end because all you heard were soft mummers and something about a woman in white, he must be talking about Constance. “Sammy, would you shut up for a second?…That’s what I’m trying to tell you. He’s gone. Dad left Jericho.”
Your heart dropped to the pit of your stomach at the words you just heard. It seemed as though they were looking for their father, and they’ve come so close, but it was all for nothing. “I’ve got his journal…Well, he did this time.” Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. That must have been what you saw earlier. “Same old ex-Marine crap. When he wants to let us know where he’s going….I’m not sure yet.” Suddenly you could hear the echo of tires squealing and Dean calling his brother’s name frantically at the phone.
“What just happened?” You asked as you watched Dean head out of the phone booth. His face was pale. He didn’t say anything, he just ran fast as he could. You only could suck in a breath and follow behind in hopes that you could keep up with him.
You peeked your head through the slightly open door to the room you thought for sure you'd be staying in at least until you managed to get back onto your feet and handle living by yourself again. You looked out into the dark hallway, and just when you thought everyone was asleep, you quietly opened the door a bit further. Looking back at the two young boys, who were both asleep in their cribs, you couldn't help but sigh at the awful fact you were going to leave them behind.
Chris Halliwell,even though he was just a little baby, was already attached to you. Aside from his parents, you were the only one he wouldn't fuss around so much while being held. Maybe it was because his future self had done the same thing. When he was twenty-two years old, he had come back from the future to try to warn you and the Halliwell sisters of how his older brother would be turned evil, to which all of you successfully stopped from happening. But it was at the cost of his life and he had died right on his mother's bed in his father's arms, all before his body had faded away from sight. No one trusted him for a while, not even you. But that didn't stop him from falling in love with you. He knew it wasn't right, because after all, you were forty eight in his time.
And of course, there was Wyatt. The sweet little boy you've grown to love ever since he was born. He called you his Auntie Y/N/N. You would almost always be the first one to wake up in the mornings after he did to feed him his favorite kind of cereal. And if his brother was still asleep afterwards, you'd play trucks with him until his mother woke up. You wouldn't see him most days, considering how you were working at the job you had now quit, but it was always the little moments with him and his brother that you cherished.
A smile crept along the ends of your lips as you watched in the moonlight that peeked through the curtains of the window as Wyatt turned his little body around. For a moment, you panicked when you thought he was waking up, but you found yourself feeling relief when you could hear a little snore coming from him.
"I'll miss you guys." You kept your voice to the lowest of whispers, but those words were directed at them. It took everything in you not to turn back around and stay as you adjusted the strap of your backpack on your shoulder and stepped out of the room. You made sure to be quiet about shutting the door before turning around on your heels.
But you found yourself almost jumping three feet in the air when you realized that someone had been standing right outside the door the whole time you were thinking about what you'd be missing. A relieved breath escaped past your lips when you noticed that it was just Victor Bennett; the man you looked at as a father figure ever since his daughters, Phoebe and Piper and their sister, Paige had graciously taken you into their home after a demon had killed your adoptive parents when you were only nineteen.
They let you live with them when they realized the same demon was still alive. He still is, considering how they never got the chance to find it again, but you were going to risk going on your own again.
"You scared me, Victor." You couldn't help but softly chuckle, before you took a good look at the man's face. He seemed like he had tears streaming down his face, while a warm cup of tea sat in his hands. Now, you were concerned. "What's wrong?"
"I can't sleep." He admitted truthfully to you under a mutter. This was expected, as his children were going up against Zankou and more than likely weren't going to make it back. Which is the main reason why Piper's children and you were here in the first place. And now you were going to leave God knows where, leaving him behind as well. "Where are you going, Y/N? It's two in the morning, you should get some rest."
Your mouth parted open as you tried to find the right words to say, but you couldn't really bring yourself to speak. You were twenty four, and the sisters had gotten you ready to bring the world on by yourself. Your heart was breaking just as much as his was over the mere fact that the three women who treated you like one of their own were probably not going to make it back, and as much as you wanted to stay and be there for him and his grandson's, you hated the idea of being burden to him.
You weren't his blooded family, nor were you related to the sisters. You didn't even have powers like they did, so you would've been helpless if the demon who had killed your parents came waltzing into his apartment one day and possibly harm Victor or the boys.
"I need to go. San Francisco isn't the place for me anymore. And besides, if the girls don't make it back, that demon who killed my mom and dad will know and come back for me and he could hurt you, or he could hurt the boys." You told the man part of the truth. He slowly nodded his head, although he hated someone he thought of as one of his own children leaving, he completely understood. You inhaled a deep breath when you felt tears of your own begin to stream down your face. "I'm just a call away if you need anything at all."
You could hardly see in the dark, but you could see Victor's lips stretching into a small smile at what he had heard. "Promise me you'll stay safe, kiddo."
"I will." You made a promise you weren't sure you could really keep, but you sure as hell were going to try your hardest. "Will you call me to let me know.. if the girls are okay, or if they're gone?"
"You bet I will."
You let out a soft sob at those four words as you stepped forward and wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him into a tight hug. He hugged you back, trying his hardest not to let any of the tea he was still holding spill onto you or the floor. His eyes fluttered shut, allowing himself to enjoy the last hug he thought he would ever give you. But just because you were leaving, didn't mean you weren't going to cross paths again.
It was a few moments before you finally pulled away from the hug, your lips stretching into a thin line as you tried not to cry again. "Tell the boys I love them and that I'll miss them."
Victor stayed quiet, only nodded his head at what were you asking him to do. You made his way around him and to the door of the apartment. Your hand wrapped around the door knob, and after letting out a breath, you opened up the door and stepped out. You didn't know where you were going, but you were ready to see where the road took you. You had suitcases in the trunk of your car, filled with your clothes. The backpack on your shoulder, had everything to help you keep a good memory of the Halliwell's, along with Victor and Leo.
This was the start of a whole new life, and although there was a part of you that was scared, you were also excited.
Your name is still Y/N Y/L/N
You’re twenty four years old
You have lived in the Halliwell Manor with the sisters since you were twenty, no, you’re not magical like them nor are you related, you have just been helping them out until they decided to go up against Zankou, leaving you no choice but to bail.
You’ve actually met Dean once before when you were seventeen in high school. He was your boyfriend for a while until he left to go hunting with his father. You both remember each other very clearly when you cross paths again in the Pilot episode.
Your adoptive parents are deceased, you have no clue who your real parents are or if they are even alive.
You know all about the Supernatural, of course.
You are a Harvelle, but you don’t know that yet. Jo is your sister, Ellen is your mother.
One nightmare. All it took was one nightmare to keep Dean awake. He thought that with you being in a much safer place now, everything would be okay. That he would be okay. But that wasn't the case.
Looking over to the right, he realized that he had only slept for a couple of hours after taking notice that the time was just a few minutes past one. He let out a soft groan as he shifted his body around to face you. It was dark, but Dean could tell that you were still asleep by the soft snores that came from you, something that should've given him enough comfort to fall back asleep again, he the man knew without a drink he wasn't going to be able to.
Dean did his best not to wake you as he sat himself up and pushed the covers off of his body, and when he had finally got up onto his feet, he slowly walked over to the door. He kept his arm stretched out so that he wouldn't accidentally bump into anything on the way. There wasn't a window, so no moonlight was shining into the room just to help the man see where everything was and he knew that it'd wake you if he had turned on the lamp that was settled on top of the nightstand.
But he managed. When he had got to the door, he opened it up just enough to slip himself out of the room and into the hallway. He shut the door quietly, before walking further down the hall and straight to the kitchen, where as he inched closer, he found himself growing rather confused when he noticed that the light was on.
He didn't expect anybody to be awake at this hour, especially his little brother, considering how he was an early bird and due to that, he liked to get to sleep earlier. But when Dean stepped into the room, he saw that Sam was sat down at the table with his laptop, a few tabs of different articles were open.
The younger man let his gaze drift away from the screen for a moment and upwards when he heard a pair of footsteps trudging their way into the room. After realizing that it was just his brother, he focused his attention back onto the article he was currently reading; something about how a married couple and their two young children were simply enjoying a camping trip up in Nebraska, but things quickly turned south when the kids went missing and their parents hearts were ripped out. Police say it was an animal attack, but Sam knew it was something else.
"Hey." Dean was the first one to speak up, breaking the silence that was lingering in the air. "What are you doing up?" He asked, making his way to the fridge to get out a bottle of beer. As he did, he couldn't help but take a quick glance at what Sam was looking at. But from where he was standing, he couldn't really see anything.
"I couldn't sleep." Sam mumbled, shutting his laptop to focus on his brother, who was now making his way over to the table. He watched as Dean popped off of the lid of his bottle before taking a long swing. "I was, uh.. worried about Y/N. I didn't realize how bad her condition was until she tried talking earlier." He admitted. "What about you?"
Dean brought the beer back down to the table and reached a hand up to run it down his face, a heavy sigh escaping past his lips. "I was asleep for a couple of hours, but I had a nightmare, so.. here I am." He finally said after a while, dropping his hand down to wrap it around the bottle. "I honestly thought things would get better now that she's here and safe, but I can't stop imagining what Paul did to her and how her own mother didn't even try to stop it."
"I can't either.." Sam admitted to his brother.
"I don't know, man." Dean mumbled, shaking his head as he picked at the label on the beer bottle. It was something he got a habit of doing any time he was feeling nervous or down. "I feel like if I hadn't been such a coward and just fought to stay so that Y/N and I could've gotten her shit packed up, she wouldn't be in this situation right now."
"Dean, you would've gone to jail if you had stayed." Sam tried to be the voice of reason, but his brother only let out a scoff, shaking his head as he brought the beer back up to his lips so he could take another drink. "Can you imagine someone who passed off as this sweet, religious man who everybody in town just thinks he could do no wrong because of the clothes he wears and a woman who would do anything to protect her husband telling the cops that you, Dean Winchester, was beating up your own girlfriend? In case you don't remember, we don't exactly have a great history with the law. You would be in jail and Y/N would still be in an unsafe house."
Dean took a moment to let what his brother was saying sink into his mind. He knew that he was right, you would still be stuck in that house with nobody to get you out of there. And you having brain damage would've been the least of his worries. That bastard could've killed you.
Nodding his head, he silently agreed with his brother before pointing over to the closed laptop. "What were you looking at when I came in?" He questioned in a curious tone.
"Uh.." Sam almost forgot about the case that had caught his interest. He propped his laptop back open, bringing the articles he had found back up before turning it around to show the man sitting across from him. "A married couple enjoying a camping trip with their kids ended up getting their hearts ripped out. The kids on the other hand.."
"Went missing." Dean finished his brother's sentence when his words had trailed off, he managed to figure it out after skimming through the article. "Must be a werewolf, you and mom should go check it out."
"Yeah, totally. I'll talk to her about it in the morning." Sam agreed, nodding his head. And before he could stop himself, he couldn't help but ask, "Do you want to come with us?"
Dean's eyes glanced up from the laptop screen to stare at the younger man, giving him a look that practically said he should've known better. "I would and you know that, but I've got Y/N to take care. And I'm going to need a break from hunting for a while." He said. "You and mom can handle this, and if you really need help call for Cas."
Sam nodded his head in understandment, mentally smacking himself for being so stupid for asking the question. He didn't say anything else as he turned the laptop back to him to further his research on this case. Meanwhile, Dean downed the rest of his beer before standing up and heading over to the trash can, where he tossed the bottle. He went to walk out, but stopped in his tracks to take a look back at his brother.
He could see a hint of sadness in the younger man's facial expressions, but the vibe that he was giving off the most was genuine concern. Letting out a sigh, Dean made his way back to Sam and wrapped his arms around him, pulling him into a gentle hug. "There's a lot of what if questions running through my mind right now, but one question that I know the answer to is that Y/N will be okay." He reassured him. "Stay safe when you go out there."
Sam nodded his head again, and for the first time since everything with your stepfather had gone down, his eyes teared up. "I will." He muttered out a promise.
With that, Dean let him go and walked out of the kitchen, and began making his way back to bed.
~~~
Even after he had fallen asleep an hour after waking up from that nightmare, Dean was still the first to wake up when morning came around. You weren't able wake up until around two in the afternoon, which left your boyfriend to keep coming in to make sure that you were still breathing. He'd wake you, but with how much your head must've still been hurting, he decided against it.
But when Dean came in for a fourth time, that's when you had waken up. And no, it wasn't because of him, it was because of that damn angel who constantly thinks it'd be okay to pop into a room without warning.
Dean found himself jumping backwards when he took notice of the all too familiar figure. And it wasn't long until he found himself getting annoyed. "Damn it, Cas!" He hissed out in a whispered tone, not wanting to wake you. "Not only are you scaring the living hell out of me, but you're spying on my girlfriend while she's sleeping? That's too much."
"I'm sorry, Dean." Castiel said in a loud enough voice to wake you. "I just wanted to make sure how she was doing."
"Dude, be quiet." Dean tried to shush the angel, but to his dismay, it was too late. You stirred around in the bed, letting out a tired groan before finally opening up your eyes. You looked around the room to see the both men standing still and staring at you. You could feel your stomach growling in hunger as you reached an arm up to place a hand on your head, a pitiful whimper escaping past your lips when you could feel the dull ache coming back to you. "Great. Just, great." Dean muttered in annoyance, throwing daggers to Castiel. "This is so.. great. She was really peaceful sleeping and now that she's awake she's feeling pain, thanks to you."
"I'm sorry, Dean.." The angel apologized once more, but what he said next annoyed the Winchester even more. "But I really think you get some food made for her. Unless it was a bear in her stomach, I think she's hungry."
"Awe, really? I didn't notice." Dean let his sarcasm shine through for just a moment, before motioning with his hand for the angel to go away. "Away with you." That was enough of a sign for the angel to know that he wasn't wanted around at the moment. When Castiel vanished from sight, Dean stepped over to the bed and sat himself down onto it, a loving smile stretched across his lips when he was able to focus his attention onto you. "Good morning, sweetheart."
"G-.." You started to say good morning back to the man, but after the first failed attempt, you decided to stop trying. Instead, you snuggled back under the covers and turned onto your side. The fact you were having a hard time with your speech was beginning to take a toll on you.
Dean let a frown stretch across his lips and crawled right up next to you. He brought his hand up to your head to give it a gentle massage, before leaning forward to press a kiss to your forehead. He let them linger there for a moment as he thought of all the possible ways to help you with your speech.

Pairing: Dean x reader
Warning(s): Mentions of abuse, angst, fluff, reader has brain damage, self hatred, self doubt, Dean has a breakdown
Character(s): Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Mary Winchester, Y/N Y/L/N
Summary: Your mother marries an extremely abusive man, who abuses you to the point you get brain damage. You have a hard time with speech and learning all of the things you already learned before, but you have Dean by your side to help you every step of the way.
Word count: 1,861
The week for Dean has passed by after continuously taking care of you. He had checked you out of the hospital and brought you back to the bunker. He had carried you into the library, where everyone was spending their time. All of their eyes trailed over towards you as Dean settled you into one of the comfy chairs in the room. Once you were settled, he crouched down in front of you. "Is there anything you want, sweetheart?" He asked you. He had spent a little bit of time each day through out the week in the hospital trying to get you to say words that were simple. You always struggled, but he knew what you were trying to say. "Are you cold?"
All you could do was slowly nod your head yes to answer his question as you shivered. You opened your mouth to speak, "J-.." you were trying to say the word, 'Juice', but you found yourself struggling all over again. "J-.." You tried once again, but failed. You could feel tears pricking at your eyes as you balled your hand into fists again. Your brain still hurt. The words you had learned throughout the years growing up were now jumbled up in your mind, making it harder for you to speak.
Tears streamed down your face and Dean's face fell into a saddened expression as he reached a hand to your face, wiping away the tears with the pad of his thumb before his hand dropped down to hold your own. "Oh, baby.. it's okay." He reassured you. You were doing just fine. But he knew that the frustration of not being able to speak properly was what was making you emotional. Luckily, he knew what you were trying to say. "You want juice?" He asked. You slowly nodded your head yes again. "Okay, I will go get you some juice and a warm blanket. And then I will come back and I will hold you."
You didn't respond to what he said. You just stared past him and to the other side of the library. Dean gave your hand a gentle squeeze before he let go and got onto his feet. He left the library and headed for the kitchen, where he had gotten your favorite kind of juice from the fridge. He then made his way over to one of the cabinets and opened it up, searching through it for the straws.
As he was doing so, he could hear footsteps behind him. He turned his head to see that his mother was standing there, a concerned look on her face. "How are you holding up, honey?" She asked her son, making her way up to him and rubbing his back in a comforting way. "I know this must be hard."
Dean finally got to the package of straws and took one out, plopping it right into the bottle of juice as he let out a sigh. He didn't realize he was crying until he sniffled. "Not too great." He mumbled underneath his breath. He felt as though it was his fault you were in this situation. He wanted to take your pain away, he wanted to take your damaged brain and switch it with his for however long it takes to heal. "I shouldn't have left her there all by herself, mom. I should've stayed. Or I should've just taken her with me to the cops." Dean's jaw tightened as he found himself growing angry with himself. His hand balled up into a fist and he pounded onto the counter. "God, I'm so stupid!"
Dean couldn't help himself. He slammed the cabinet shut. But when it opened back up again from how hard he pushed onto it, he found himself beating at it, heart wrenching sobs wracked through his whole body as his mother pulled him back, into a tight hug. She shushed her son as they both fell to the floor with him in her arms. "You are not stupid!" She told her son. "You did what you thought was right and I know that deep down-.. Y/N would be proud. She's so lucky to have you. This will get better, sweetheart, I promise you."
The sobs that were escaping Dean slowly came to a calming point. He just stared at the cabinets below the counter as tears just rolled down his face. He was tired of spending his nights hating himself over the situation you were now being put through. All that came out of his mouth was one word turned into a question. "When?"
Mary shrugged her shoulders at his question. "I don't know." She admitted. She wanted to give her son a piece of advice that would help himself get through this and hopefully something he can pass on to you when you start to question things. "But everything takes time. And time is what helps people heal."
~~~
After being held himself for a while by his mother, Dean had grabbed a hold of the juice he had gotten for you and made his way back to the library with a blanket he had gotten from the supply closet. He noticed that nobody else was in the library. The lights were off except for the lights in the library. Sam must have gone to bed and Castiel must have gone to the mancave to binge watch whatever show he was watching on Netflix, leaving the both of you alone.
You were still staring towards the other side of the room until you heard footsteps. You slowly turned your head to see Dean walking towards you with the bottle of juice you wanted and the blanket he promised to get. He set the bottle of juice on the small table situated near the chair. He then lifted you from the chair all before sitting himself down with you in his lap.
He placed the blanket on top of the both of you, making sure you were warm enough before he reached over to the juice bottle. He helped you get the straw into your mouth and let you begin drinking until you didn't want it anymore.
When you didn't, he set it back down onto the table, he placed his hand on your side as he reached for a book, grabbing one from the bookcase that was a couple of inches away from the two of you. "I want to read to you." He said as he opened the book to the first page. The cover read 'It ends with us.' He held the book up with his right hand. "To help you with pronouncing your words."
Given the warmth of his hands against your clothed skin, you slowly reached out your hand and clamped it around your boyfriend's right wrist, slowly bringing it down to your lap before bringing it to your right side, the one that was bruised. The warmth of his hand somehow eased your pain of the bruises. He wondered why you did that for a moment, but when he saw the relief on your face, he suddenly knew why. You wanted his hand there.
So he kept it there, slowly moving his hand underneath your shirt so it would come in direct contact with your skin. From there, Dean began to read the book in his hands. He read to her, letting all of the words sink into your mind. And in that moment, he realized that not only did you need him through all of this, he also needed you. He needed to know you were safe and this time, for good.
Dean Winchester knew that everything took time. And he was going to use this time to help you. He was going to be there for you every step of the way.
He gently pressed his head against the side of your own as he read to you. It was soothing for the both of you. It took sometime for you to process the things he was saying, reading off from the book and you couldn't read well anymore, but you could still listen. You closed your eyes as you listened to the words coming off of the page.
You could remember things, and one of those things you could remember was how much you loved reading and writing stories of your own. You could feel your heart breaking at not being able to that anymore. At least, not for a while.
For now, you were just going to have to take time processing the words you hear and take time getting your speech back.
~~
Dean could almost sense that you were getting tired and he had left the book and the now empty bottle of juice to carry you to his bedroom. He would clean everything up in the morning, but as for now, you were both tired.
When he got to his bedroom with you in his arms, he made his way over to the bed and gently laid you onto it. He laid the blanket you had in the library on top of you before walking back to the door and quietly shutting it tight. He kicked off his shoes and removed his jeans, leaving him in his boxers and his t-shirt.
He crawled into the empty space on the bed next to you as you turned around to face him, he covered himself up the blanket.
You both laid there in silence for a few minutes. All up until you slowly reached out to touch the bridge of your boyfriend's nose, slowly running your finger down to the tip of it.
Dean's lips stretched into a smile as he let out a light chuckle. "That's my nose, sweetheart." He told you, reaching his own hand out and running his fingers along your arm. Your finger trailed down to his mouth, where you ran your finger along his lips. "Those are my lips." He said, fluttering his eyes shut as your finger came up to his eye. You ran your finger along his one eyelid. "These are my eyes. And these.." He gently moved your hand to one of his ears, leaving it there for a moment, he held her hand. "These are my ears. And each one of these has a purpose. My nose is to help me breathe and to smell the good things and the bad things. My eyes are to help me see, and they let me see your beautiful face every day. My ears are to listen, to hear. Music, television, your voice. And my lips.." Dean paused for a moment, leaning his neck forward a bit to place a kiss to your cheek. "My lips are to give you kisses and to smile or frown. They help me talk. Because without my lips, every word I try to say would be muffled."
You took your time processing what all he had to say. You could feel tears running down your face again as you scooted closer to the man, nuzzling into him.
Dean wrapped you into his arms, his eyes fluttering shut as he held you. You both found yourselves falling asleep from the silence that filled the room.
Summary: Your mother marries an extremely abusive man, who abuses you to the point you get brain damage. You have a hard time with speech and learning all of the things you already learned before, but you have Dean by your side to help you every step of the way.
The lobby to the hospital was full of patients waiting to be checked in. But concerning your conditions when Dean had carried you in, screaming for help, doctors and nurses had rushed you to the Emergency room, where they hooked you up with an IV bag. Fluids of morphine to help with the pain for when you woke up pumped through.
They x-rayed your whole body, finding that no bones were broken, but you would be extremely bruised for the next week or two. What they were concerned about was your brain. You were knocked pretty hard in the head. So everyone, including the Winchester brothers and Castiel had waited for you to wake up so the doctors could do some tests.
It took you almost two hours to finally rise from unconciousness. But when you did, you found yourself having trouble processing things. You could hear what the doctors were saying, but you didn't know what to say, or how to say anything.
"Ms. Y/L/N, are you feeling any pain at all?" One of the doctor's asked, your eyes slowly trailed over to the doctor. It took a while for the words to process inside of your mind. Everything was slow, your brain hurt, your entire head was throbbing, you opened your mouth to speak, but nothing was coming out. Your voice wasn't gone, you just didn't know how to pronounce a simple no. "Honey, talk to us."
Dean stood outside of the room you were in, his brother and Castiel standing behind him with curiosity running through their veins as they wondered what was going on. The door was shut, blocking any sound that anybody was making. He looked through the small squared window on the door, allowing him to peep into the room. He noticed that your mouth was moving. It was moving slowly. Confusion had spread across your face as you looked around the room, the two doctor's that were in the room with you glanced at each other all before one of them turned to the door, stepping out of the room to explain to the three men what was going on.
When the door shut behind the doctor, that's when Dean began asking questions. "What's going on with her, doc? Is she okay?" He asked. Genuine worry sounded in his voice as he watched as the doctor's face fell into a bit of sadness.
"She will be okay." The doctor explained to three men as she nodded her head. "She has bruising along her stomach and her side, but no broken bones. Our biggest concern though..." Her words trailed off. She didn't want to worry your boyfriend. She knew this would be a hard thing to deal with.
"What is it?" Dean asked, his patience was running thin. He just wanted to know what was going on with you.
The doctor inhaled a deep breath, all before she spoke. "Her stepfather kicked her pretty hard in the head. It damaged her brain." She said. The brothers and Castiel glanced at each other. Each one of them were worried, but they still focused their attention onto what the doctor was saying. "It's not permanent. It'll heal. But it could take months up to a year or two for her to get better. She is currently having trouble with her speech, the things people say to her, she is having a hard time processing. And you might have to teach her the things she had already learned before all over again, starting with walking, then writing, and then swimming and so on. Do not let her handle any knives or anything that is sharp until she is one hundred percent better."
Dean nodded his head at this information. He could feel his heart heavy in his chest as he tried his hardest to breathe. He looked back through the window and into the room. He could see your blank face as you stared at the wall. You had tears running down your face from the frustration and the confusion you were dealing with. You didn't know anything, any word you tried to get out, you struggled with. You couldn't even say your own name.
It was hard for Dean to see you like this. He wished there was some way to take all of this away, but he knew. He knew there wasn't anything he could do.
"How long is she going to have to stay here, doc?" Dean could hear his brother ask a question that was stuck in the back of everyone's mind.
"A week." The doctor said. "Just until her bruising is a bit better."
~~~
The entire week you were in the hospital, Dean had stayed. He had gone back to the bunker that first day to drop off his brother and Castiel and to pack up clothing for the next few days all before heading back to the hospital, where he would be spending the nights with you.
You didn't say anything to him. You either just slept, or stared at the wall. You couldn't bare yourself to eat actual food. You couldn't even say what you wanted to eat and that frustrated you.
So the doctor's would come up with a small bowl of Applesauce and some water with a straw.
The first time trying to eat your Applesauce, as you tried to put the spoon into your mouth, your hands were too shaky and you got Applesauce all over your hospital gown.
You fluttered your eyes shut and let out a sigh all before you tried again, just to make more of a mess. You dropped your spoon in the bowl in frustration all before balling your hand into a tight fist. You let out a frustrated cry, causing Dean to look away from the tv show that he was watching. He pushed himself out of the recliner that he was sleeping in and made his way over to you.
"Sweetheart, it's okay." Dean reassured you as he grabbed a napkin from the tray the doctor had brought up. He used it to wipe up the Applesauce you had spilt onto yourself all before throwing it into the tiny trash can near your bed. He then reached for the spoon and lifted it to your mouth. You looked up at him as though he was crazy. You weren't a baby. And it seemed he got your look as he spoke up again. "I want to help you. I'm going to help you get through this, I just-... need you to let me help you."
Your eyebrows furrowed as you allowed the words to slowly sink into your mind. It took a couple minutes, before you slowly nodded your head, opening your mouth for him to feed you.
So he did, he fed you the entire bowl of Applesauce and helped you take sips of your water. He stayed close to you the rest of the time, helping you drink some water all until you fell back asleep.
That's how it was all week. But he couldn't really help you with taking showers. That was your doctor's job. But he helped you with everything else and he planned on helping you every day after you checked out of the hospital.

You should have been used to this by now. The pain that you were feeling, you should have known that it would never go away unless you had informed your boyfriend of five years, Dean Winchester and his brother, Sam of what your stepfather was doing to you weekly. It was once a week that your stepfather would beat you to the point where he would leave you bruised. When your old bruises would begin to fade away, he would make sure that there were new ones.
Paul was your stepfather's name. Paul Y/L/N.
Now, Paul wasn't always this way. Of course, he was mentally abusive two months after your mother had started dating him. That's all he ever was. And he was only mentally abusive towards her. And even though he was such an evil man, he still believed in God and how a couple should never live together unless they are married.
You were just barely packing up to move into the bunker your boyfriend and his brother lived in. But of course, all of your plans came crumbling down when Paul had walked into yours and your mother's life.
Your mother was blind, didn't see what he was doing to her and even though you kept trying to get her to see what he was doing to your mother, she still wouldn't see. She wouldn't even listen and they ended up getting married.
That's when he began getting physical. With the both of you. Because he knew he had you both trapped inside of the house you once called a home. You couldn't leave with him in the house, not even to spend an hour with Dean, who began asking questions of what was going down at your house, wondering why you both couldn't see each other. But you brushed it off with a simple lie, knowing that you couldn't tell him anything because you knew it would just anger Paul more when he found out about what all you have told your boyfriend.
Dean was tough, he was protective. Especially when it came to you. Which is why you couldn't tell him anything.
Who knows what would he would do to your stepfather. Or worse, what your stepfather would do to Dean if he threw the first punch. Paul would play victim, accuse Dean of abusing you and have him thrown into jail no matter what you say to try and get him out.
You subconsciously ran the tips of your cold fingers along the big bruise on your side as you entered the bunker. Your mother and Paul had left the house to go to dinner. They would have taken you with, but you put your best acting skills to the test and pretended that you were sick just to get out of going. You knew it would be a risk, but when they had left, you snuck out of the house and ran all the way to the bunker. It was thirty minutes away by foot, but you didn't care. You just needed to see Dean.
As you made your way down the stairs that lead to the map room, you noticed that almost all of the lights were off except for the library. You furrowed your brows as you made your way into the room. The brothers should have been in Dean's mancave by now, watching the Sunday football game and enjoying a couple of beers, so you wondered who was in the library by now.
You made your way further into the room, but stopped in your tracks when you heard a familiar voice speak your name. Although it was familiar, you still jumped when your boyfriends mother, Mary Winchester, had spoke up behind you.
You placed your hand over your beating heart, relieved to know that it wasn't anybody else, knowing very well that Paul and your mother, who's name is Blayke, could've followed you here without you even realizing.
"I'm sorry, I just-.." You found yourself choking up on your words as you let out a breath. Mary gave you a concerned look, stepping closer towards you as your shoulders just started to shake as you sobbed. "I'm sorry." You repeated, covering your face as the tears dripped down your face.
Mary's concern turned to worry as she helped you sit down into one of the chairs. That's when she noticed the bruise on the right side of your face, just below your eye. She noticed that you had tried covering it up with make up, but the make up didn't do you justice, which she was glad about. "Oh, sweetheart." She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth as she gently brushed her fingers along your bruise. You flinched at the touch. "I'm going to get the boys, alright? You just stay here."
So you did just that, watching as she headed out of the library. It's not like you had anywhere else to go. Or that you wanted to go anywhere else. You wanted to be at the bunker, where the safety was in Dean's arms.
It was a few minutes until all three Winchester's came into the library, with Castiel, your angel friend.
"Baby.." You turned your head you heard Dean speak up. He was making his way around the table and to you as you stood onto your feet. He engulfed you into his arms, allowing you to nuzzle your face into the crook of his neck. "I missed you so much. Are you okay?" He questioned you as he pulled away. He cupped your face and examined the bruise on your face. His mother wasn't kidding when she told the boys how bad of a bruise it was. "What happened, who did this to you?"
You inhaled a deep breath as you played with the bracelet around your wrist. You cursed yourself for not covering up your bruise better, but maybe this was a sign. If all four of them knew about what your stepfather was doing, they could all help.
"Paul." You admitted. You watched as Dean's face fell into anger.
”Paul?" Sam repeated the name, curiosity rising in his voice. "As in the man your mom married?"
Biting down on your bottom lip, you nodded your head yes. You heard Dean sigh loudly, bringing his fingers up to his temple to massage it as Castiel came around the table, bringing two fingers to your forehead, he healed you, easing you from the pain your stepfather had given you.
"Sweetheart, why don't you come live with us?" Dean questioned. You turned down moving in with him once before because of Paul's beliefs, but he never knew why.
You shook your head, sitting yourself down onto the table. "I can't.." You said. Dean raised a brow up, wondering why you couldn't move in with him. "Paul believes that it's wrong to move in when you're not married to the person you are with. If I go back home to pack my bags, he'll just start beating me."
"Paul believes in that, yet he's an abusive son of a bitch?!" Dean's voice was growing angrier now as his hands balled up into fists. You could almost see the fire in his eyes. "No, you and I are both going back to your house and we are packing up your things. I will fight him if I have too."
You opened up your mouth to stop your boyfriend, but it was too late as you watched him march out of the library, heading to the garage. You let out a sigh, saying goodbye to the other three all before following Dean out to the garage as you hoped that goodbye wouldn't be for forever.
~~~
Dean pulled the Impala up your house, you could see that your mother and Paul were now standing outside on the front lawn. A look of pure anger was stretched across Paul's face, but that didn't seem to stop Dean from quickly getting out of the car and heading up to the man. A gasp escaped your mouth as you watched him throw a punch directly at his jaw, sending him to the ground.
You got yourself out of the Impala, even though Dean had told you to stay in the car while he went and got all of your stuff out of the house as the Winchester dropped down onto your stepfather and continuously decking the older man in the face. You screamed for him to stop, all though you wanted so badly for him to continue.
You grabbed ahold of Dean's arm and pulled him to his feet. He was breathing heavily from the anger that had been expressed. Your eyes trailed up to Paul's face as he got himself up from the ground. He wiped at his nose, which Dean had made bloody from the constant punches he threw at the man.
"What the hell is your problem, son?" Paul asked, acting as if he had done nothing wrong to anger Dean.
"No, what the hell is your problem?!" Dean yelled at the man, stepping closer towards him. "You laid your hands on my girlfriend, Blayke's blooded daughter. You abused her and left her bruised all over her body!" He pointed out the things that the older man had done to you. You didn't see it coming when He reached his arms out and grabbed Paul by the collar, pulling him dangerously close to him, his eyes burned into his. "And for that, she is coming to live with me, whether you like it or not."
Blayke stepped into the fight, stopping it before it could get any worse as she pushed the men apart. "That's enough, Dean Winchester!" She said. What she said next left you shock. "You're the one who has been constantly beating at our daughter, so do not blame my husband for this!"
"Are you hearing yourself, Blayke?" Dean found himself growing angry with your mother now. He would never lay a hand on you. You and his family knew that he loved you too much to ever hurt you. "Y/N has told me everything! How this bastard" He pointed over towards Paul, "mentally abused you, and then had started physically abusing the both of you when the two of you got married. He's gotten into your fucking head!"
"Nobody has gotten into my head." Blayke said, crossing her arms over her chest as she blatantly lied to protect her abusive husband. You felt tears welling up in your eyes at what she was saying, you couldn't believe it. "I know what you do to my daughter and I do not want you around my house. You come near the three of us again, I will call the cops on your ass. Trust me."
In that moment, you felt your heart sink to your stomach as Dean turned his head back to you. You knew his history with cops, how he constantly got arrested for trying to save the world. But nobody knew that he was a hero. They'd believe your mother and Paul over him at any time. You felt yourself being jerked back to your mom and your stepfather as you watched Dean walk away slowly, as if he didn't want to go, but he had no choice.
You screamed for him to turn around as Paul began dragging you back into the house you didn't want to be trapped in anymore. Your vision blurred with tears as you kicked at the man, punched at him, crying for Dean to come back. This was not what you wanted.
Everything felt like slow motion as you heard the front door slam and the sound of the Impala's engine roaring to life all before it drove away. You felt yourself being dropped to the ground all before you got yourself to your feet and began running to the door. But Paul grabbed ahold of you, dragging you to your room, where you were going to get another beating for getting Dean involved in the mess your stepfather had created.
~~~
It had been an hour of fighting with both your mom and your stepfather, you were screaming at your mom for being the lying bitch that she was, telling her that Paul had gotten inside of her head because that's exactly what happened. And it only angered Paul more as he continued to beat at you.
You let out a cry of pain as you laid on your bedroom floor, holding onto your stomach as he continued to kick at it. They weren't just any kicks, they were kicks out of pure hatred. They were hard and bruising, making you feel as though every bone in your body was broken. You found yourself screaming for Castiel, praying that he could hear you as you curled yourself up into a ball, sobs wracking through your body.
"Oh, shut the fuck up."
Paul practically spit out the words as he did something he wasn't thinking straight of; he kicked you hard in the head. Maybe he was thinking, though, considering how he continued to kick you until you were completely knocked out. All signs of your body not moving as your whole world went black.
And as though it wasn't an issue, the man left your room, doing the mistake of slamming the door shut behind him. That's when Castiel had appeared.
The angel looked down at you. "Y/N." He spoke your name in a whispered tone, hoping you could hear his voice. He hoped you would make movement. But when you didn't, he crouched down and pressed two fingers against the crook of your neck. You were still breathing, but you were unconscious and there was no way he would be able to heal something so severe, considering how his powers were weak at the moment.
So, he did what he could by teleporting you into the backseat of the Impala that was three houses down from yours.
The Winchester brothers both turned to look at you. Dean's heart broke at the sight of you. He had gone to the police station to tell the cops everything, and then went back to the bunker to get his brother and Castiel. He was going to come back and get you with the help of the other two men. He didn't even think this would have happened to you while he did all of this.
"She's still breathing." Castiel informed the brothers when he saw the worried looks stretched across their faces. "But we need to get to the hospital and fast."
Dean nodded his head, turning around slowly in his seat, he gripped tight onto the wheel and let out a breath to keep himself from crying as he began driving, heading the hospital where you would be taken care of. He just hoped it wouldn't be too late.
He somehow felt a bit relieved when he saw red and blue flashing lights appear and a police car turning into the neighborhood, heading to your house to arrest the cruel man you called your stepfather.
