y’all just— thinking about how excited Stanley must have been to host the twins— Alex says he smokes cigars but he doesn’t smoke once in the show— has a beer gut but he only drinks sodas in front of the kids— doesn’t swear when they’re around which must have taken INCREDIBLE effort— Stanley Pines, known crook, buying pancake mix at the supermarket and many bottles of syrup— learning to cook basic healthy meals and burning so many of them before he gets it right— buying new sheets, new mattresses— avoiding bunk beds because it reminds him of Ford— looking at the attic room he made wondering “is this enough will they like me”— trying to act aloof at the bus stop so he doesn’t betray the fact that he was there hours early— watching them goof around and thinking of New Jersey beaches— then the first night they’re there, he watches them debate running away and only stay because Mabel shook a magic 8 ball. That must have kept him awake all night.

FAE STAN IS SUCH A COOL IDEA!! Ford, not even knowing his brother is a fae creature, going to the fae realm for research purposes or stumbling upon a faerie ring and BAM!! Stan’s there! But he looks?? Wrong? His nose that used to be crooked was straight, his yellowed teeth were bone white, his skin was unblemished, years of acne scars wiped away, and suddenly Ford was staring at a distorted version of his twin. For just a second Ford thinks it’s just a trick, but no fae would react the way Stan did by just seeing him, his perfect skin taking a deathly pale shade at the sight of Ford’s face. His twin, it’s seems, has a lot of explaining to do.

(Cut to Stan trying to trick Ford into making a deal with him, just for funsies.)

Sorry for the ramble, non-human Stan is one of my fav tropes!!

Oh man that's way less angsty than my idea.

In mine he drives off, then gets portaled into the fae realm as a failed changeling, since he didn't make it to 18 with his human family. Spends the next several days whiplash learning about fae stuff, making fae friends and enemies, meeting his equally terrible fae parents, then drives out of the fae realm with a bunch of stolen treasures, confident he can win his place back with his family.

Exits the fae realm in Gravity Falls by crashing into Fords cabin, because the 10 days Stan's been gone equals 10 years in the human realm, and now little fae Stan is here at the height of Ford paranoia, distraught about how much time has passed, and the fact that Ford doesn't believe he's him.

You know, I have a hard time believing Ford liked Fidds that much when they first met.

This started off as: haha Stanford "Grammer, Stanley" Pines would have had an aneurysm meeting Fiddleford and then it spiraled out of control.

The last ones based off that one daredevil comic btw. (I saw it and I thought of them)

Fellas, Is It Gay To Rewrite Reality And Bring Your Best Friend Back To Life After She Became A God And

Fellas, is it gay to rewrite reality and bring your best friend back to life after she became a God and you become a demon in the process?

I have such frustrated feelings about Why Women Kill.

I adored season 1 so much, it was brilliant! The writing was solid, there was a tension to the mystery, parts of it that only unraveled with time.

And this show was actually unique. The way it told three murder mysteries in three different time periods that all shared the same location was incredibly cool. As someone who loves the look of a period piece from the last century, it was so nice to see the costumes, the cars, the sets. The way the show transitioned between time periods too!

That’s not even mentioning the cast, the cast was fucking amazing, I mean, you don’t cast Lucy Liu and don’t get praise for that, that’s a given, but Ginnifer Goodwin and Kirby Howell-Baptiste were also amazing.

An incredibly talented cast that got to work with a solid script in a refreshing concept of story-telling.

And then they just… threw everything unique about the show out of the window in season 2 and made it the most average, mediocre thin, just another run-of-the-mill crime show. Sure, it was still a period piece, but only one period.

The concept of switching between periods, which was the unique and interesting aspect, was gone - and I can only assume that was some stupid greed decision of “oh well, if we keep doing 3 decades a season, we’ll burn through the past century way too fast so let’s slow down!” or something. But I’d rather have had three incredible seasons that had wrapped it on 90 years total and kept the model of story-telling that the show first used, than what the show ended up doing.

Not to mention that there was just… no real… Season 2 lacked appeal. The stories of the three murderesses had intrigue, for one, it wasn’t even entirely clear who would end up the murderer and who would be the victim, and then there was compassion woven in too. They were complex. Season 2 just fell incredibly flat and was so much more predictable.

It was also such a drag. Because it had one story that it told over the span of the same length as season 1, which told three stories. So they stretched this out to trice the length it should have needed.

All of this is to say, I wasn’t surprised when this show got cancelled after season 2, because of course did it get cancelled after season 2. In a sea of shows that get cancelled too early, this one actually did that to itself by self-sabotaging so hard.

And yeah, I’m still mad about that, because I just rewatched Sandman and saw Kirby and was reminded of Why Women Kill season 1 and how great this show could have been if it had kept the anthology format of telling multiple stories within one season, if it had managed to keep even just half the quality of season 1.

Am I wrong to think the Mystery Shack is hardly even a scam?? It does its job of entertaining people, who cares if the attractions are fake, have you ever been to a theme park?? And who cares if people are willing to spend on overpriced merchandise? Stan isn’t selling necessities, he’s selling entertainment and can mark it up as he pleases
