Not Elrond Peredhel looking at the orcs and going, "Wait, you can't burn the Library of Alexandria" while the others have blades to Gil-galad's throat.
That half elf has his priorities STRAIGHT.
Will be boycotting but I can be sad about it.
Despite falling out of love with the MCU very quickly after endgame (I literally only watched. Like two of the films, hawkeye & FATWS after endgame) I’ve been looking forward to seeing more of Sam and the Captain America legacy. And instead of listening to literally anyone’s protests and complaints marvel decided to change the character that no one wanted in the film, to a basically pointless character that people still don’t want in the film, all to keep the actress that people are protesting in the film?
Fuck you marvel frfr.
It really upsets me that Sam and Anthony finally get a movie to focus on and showcase them, but it's marred by Marvel's decision to put Sabra, a very anti-Palestinian character, in there.
I understand why people are calling for a boycott of it, but it's just upsetting, because Anthony and Sam deserved a good movie about them.
why must I work for money? is it not enough to sit quietly in my pajamas, writing fic, deranged ?
Elrond setting an orc on fire for desecrating the lore might be the hottest thing he’s ever done.
can't wait for buck to start sharing fun facts about bees
The chokehold 2012 Avengers tower fanfiction has on me is insane
Evan Buckley is not a dumbass. He has a wealth of knowledge about random topics he imparts when relevant, good at his job, and conscious of the feelings of those around him.
Eddie Diaz is not a dumbass. He is smart, capable, and at 23/24, he was in charge of 8-16 soldiers in a warzone.
Evan Buckley & Eddie Diaz at work are not dumbasses. They have worked like a well-oiled machine for almost a long as they've known each other.
Evan Buckley & Eddie Diaz looking after Christopher are not dumbasses. They are kind, loving, doting, and firm but fair.
Evan Buckley & Eddie Diaz hanging out with no responsibilities or deep trauma looming over their heads are a pair of dumbasses. That's just (boy) math.
This blog was created for loving and appreciating the character of Sam Wilson.
And while for years, we have been anticipating the next time we'll get to see Anthony Mackie on screen, playing our favourite character, and proving to everyone how he IS Captain America, this is a reminder that Captain America: Brave New World has been directly called out by the BDS movement (a nearly 20 year old movement created by Palestinians), and we have been asked to boycott it in its entirety.
A zionist settler has been cast. Disney itself has donated $2 million to Israeli relief groups.
it is incredibly saddening that we won't be able to watch one of our favourite's character's long awaited film, but our interest and love for this character, and for superheroes/comics/movies as a whole, are no where near more important then standing up alongside Palestinians, and doing all we can to help them and to listen to their requests.
Join me in boycotting the film. Pirate it if you must.
Sometimes you need to read something twice to get it. You might need to watch a movie three times to understand it. You might have to have that album on repeat for a week until the lyrics make any sense. You're allowed to engage with it and can keep engaging with it until it means something to you. People will see a painting at a museum and laugh about not getting what the big deal is but like you can come back, you can see it at another time, and maybe that next time it'll be different for you. I'm of the belief the "media literacy crisis" would solve itself if more people just sat down and did it again. Watched, read, played, listened, etc like I don't think people are getting more ignorant necessarily I just think we're not glorifying personally replaying things nearly as much as we should be.
she’s right
