Shylin drew back as he rests his forehead to her own, his lips quirked into a smile a lower arm rests against her waist.

“What would they think if they saw you now?”

Her fins twitched, expression placid as she stared back at him. It was the same back and forth as it always was, it was almost normal.

“They’d blame you, say that you must be controlling me.”

“Almost certainly, but that’s the fun that comes from being the bad guy. I see why you do it so often.”

Her fins drooped slightly as she let out a soft huff, opting not to respond. Shylin’s wings puffed up a bit as his upper hands cup the side of her face.

“Hey it’s nothing personal, well it is I won’t lie, but I doubt they’d remain your friends if they knew what you were really like.”

“And what am I like?”

He gently brushes a thumb against her cheek, his voice softening.

“There’s nothing there. Your feelings may be real, the sorrow may be true, but the depths of those feelings are shallow. So much of what you show is mimicry, Moonlight.”

“Calling someone shallow is hardly a compliment.”

“Then it’s a good thing I wasn’t doing that.”

“Then what were you doing?”

“Setting the stage for you to prove me wrong.”

That as well, most people know how basic astronomy works on my planet even if we do not have total solar eclipses. :)

Wouldn't you consider a solar eclipse to be a bad thing?

Stars will fade eventually, we accept that in time our stars will die.

Black holes are as much of a part of our iconography as the stars themselves, but black paint and clothing is typically not worn outside of specific scenarios or religious clerics.

And in truth, we do not have eclipse events on my home world as the planet lacks satellites of sufficient size. Worlds who are able to experience such a thing are truly rare. :)

Such hostility, I was just curious. I seldom hear about those who are former citizens of the Empire, my own planet is under Alternian rule so I have some complex thoughts about the subject. :)
