Well since this is a blog I suppose I should recount what my day has been like.

I took a lovely flight around the city and had lunch overlooking one of the memorial parks to my family. Afterwards I spent some time doing some light reading, socializing, I’ve had to update my wardrobe a bit but overall it was a pleasant time. :)

I haven't gotten around to writing a formal character profile for him (on account of him being an OC I made for a plot years ago I brought back).

He exists in the same Old Alternia as Sefoni in terms of timeframe to canon and his former empire's holdings are now Alternian.

The patterns are face paint. :)

They are worn as adornment, but they also are considered symbols of protection against evil and bad intentions. The circle on the forehead is symbolic of one of our 3 suns and the color of paint is based on which sun is being invoked. The white sun, the red sun, or the yellow sun.

My paint is a bit more elaborate, but not ceremonial so it is not as extensive as something I would wear during a formal event. Most people would wear a bit on their face, on the forehead and on the cheeks.

They're also used as conduits for magic so while the superstitious aspect may be present, it can be blended with the practical. :)
