Protection spells are utilized by witches to safeguard themselves and others from negative energy and harm. Here are a few examples:
Circle of Protection: This spell involves creating a circle of salt or herbs around oneself or a specific area to create a barrier against negative forces.
Shielding Spell: This spell requires visualizing a protective shield of light or energy around oneself to deflect any negative influences.
Warding Spell: By placing protective symbols or objects in a specific area, this spell prevents unwanted energies or entities from entering.
Banishing Spell: This spell removes negative energies or entities from a person or place by using incantations, herbs, or rituals.
Remember, it is important to use these spells responsibly and with good intentions.

Close your eyes. Breathe out your frustration. Feel your feet on the ground and center yourself with the earth. Keep eyes closed until your heart rate has settled.
Light a lavender candle. Let the scent fill your room/office.
Make yourself a cup of chamomile tea.
Take time to clean your room/office. A clean physical world translates into peace for your mental world.
Keep rose petals in your freezer. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, lay down and place the cold petals over your eyes. Rest for 15 minutes.
There is something to be said for the simplicity and effectiveness of writing a list and checking it off as you complete each task. When your mind is cluttered and overwhelmed with all your conflicting responsibilities, sit down, and write a list of everything you need to do. Tackle your first item, then move on to the next. When you’ve finished your list you will feel cleansed of your worries.
Go for a hike, or a swim in the ocean or lake. Reconnecting with mother nature reminds the soul of the truly important things. It will relax you and allow you to revisit your obligations with fresh eyes.
Take an epsom salt bath.
Allow yourself to be creative. Daily tasks can get daunting and run you down. Allow yourself to indulge in your creativity. Your work will benefit from your brain switching on its creative edge. Doodle. Sing. Dance. Knit. Write.
Meditate.
Find a sleep spell and encourage yourself to get 8 hours of sleep.
Imbolc bath 🍋 (lemon peel, powdered milk, coconut oil, honey, lavender oil, clary sage oil — made by someone else, my photos)
When I was a baby witch, it was really difficult for me to understand the Sabbats and the wheel of the year. To help all my baby witches, I made a short summary to make it easier.
This is the Sabbat for celebrating rebirth. Many people celebrate it similarly to Christmas, with gift giving, feasting, and wreath making. People will often kiss a consenting partner under a sprig of mistletoe for good luck.
This Sabbat celebrates the return of spring. People make corn dollies and set them in a basket next to a symbol of masculinity. Many Witches will clean out their homes during Imbolc.
This Sabbat celebrates the coming time of fertility. Egg decorating is common during this time.
This Sabbat focuses on fertility. Many Pagans choose to conceive children at this time (or just to enjoy themselves sexually with a partner). Beltane festivals are often high energy, with plenty of dancing and bonfires.
A Sabbat for celebrating the longest day of the year, as well as for mourning the shortening days after. Some Witches burn bonfires or light candles to represent the Sun.
I love this Sabbat but I’m not able to pronounce this name :). This is the first of the three harvesting Sabbats. There are festivals of grain and bread. People make gingerbread men during this time.
This is the second of the three harvesting Sabbats. Witches give thanks to the Earth and the harvest. Celebraters will make and drink wine at this time.
This is the last of the three harvesting Sabbats. It is also the festival of the dead. The veil is at its thinnest at this time. Witches will sometimes hold a big feast during Samhain.

Witchcraft is not docile. Witchcraft is what I turned to when every other avenue failed me. It was a last grasp, the feral response to my own undoing. It is death and splintering until the fragments of yourself are no longer recognizable. Witchcraft is vicious, it is violent and merciless and selfish and those who try to subjugate a witch will find that domestication does not sit easily on the skin of one who has used hellfire to warm their bones.
Before I get into this: I don’t have any issues with cursing, but I am seeing people jump into them quickly, and even casting them against each other on here so I’m going to explain some shit that people need to know if this is what they want to do.
Before the Three-fold law was brought to the forefront because of Wicca, there were a few commonplace ‘rules’ many, many witches followed, one of which was: To never use your power on a another witch.
This was not because of morals.
This was because there are ways of sending things back to the caster. A witch attacking another witch never ended well for either party (or their loved ones, really, because nothing ever just effects one person), it was essentially declaring a never ending war, because yeah you may have thrown up some protections, but all that has to be done is a reversal spell more potent than whatever protection you gave yourself. Rinse and repeat until one party gives up.
That being said, here’s two reversal spells I have in my book of mirrors. I have adapted them and combined other published spells to make these, so if you happen to have the same books as me some parts may be familiar. I have tested these.
Get a new candle, you’ll want it to be large. The longer the candle burns the more powerful the spell.
Turn it upside down. Carve off the bottom until the wick is exposed and can be lit.
If necessary, slice the top so it can stand flat on it’s top, upside down.
Dress the candle in any oils or herbs you find appropriate to help you with this. Meditating on it can help if need be. Different curses/hexes are better stopped by different things, so if something feels right, use it. Just make sure it’s safe.
Light the wick, while chanting “Let this evil done against me reverse itself, as I have reversed you.”
Meditate and focus your intent while the candle burns. Do it until you feel it is enough. Let the candle burn out. If you stop meditating on it and feel like you should a few hours later while the candle is still burning, do it. When the candle burns out, the reversal is complete.
Gather 6 blackthorns, or pine needles.
Create a wax (or clay, if burying) image. It does not have to be specific, it can be a generic human figure. If this is a curse or hex, this spell will be able to trace where it came from.
Stick a thorn/needle through each hand, while saying “The evil you have crafted returns to you.”
Stick a needle/thorn through each foot, while saying “The evil you visit upon me returns to you”
Stick a needle/thorn through the mouth, while saying “The evil you spoke returns to you”
Stick a thorn through the forehead “The evil that you think and create returns to you.”
Burn, or bury the image
Among our senses, one of the most-looked over and powerful is our sense of smell. Aromas can help us recall happy memories - baking cookies with loved ones during the holiday season, the perfume or cologne of a loved one - as well as unpleasant memories. Through psychology, we’ve proven that, when recreating a scene, scents can be our most powerful allies in recalling past events in our lives.
Aromatherapy is the art of using scents to heal the body, mind and soul. We use scents in healing rituals, magic and spirituality frequently - it even manifests in religious practices such as Christianity when a pastor cleanses a space with incense.
Working with essential oils is really quite easy, but here are some precautions to take.
Dilute
It’s important to dilute your essential oils in a carrier oil before using them therapeutically. You should rarely apply an undiluted essential oil to your skin.
By diluting your essential oils in a carrier oil, you get a lot more use out of them and you also prevent skin irritations. Some common types of carrier oils are grapeseed, olive, flaxseed, almond and sesame oil. Use 30mL (2 tbsp) of carrier oil per 5-10 drops of essential oil.
Storage
Essential oils need to be kept away from light and air. It’s best to store them in dark-tinted bottles to prevent light penetration. With proper storage, most essential oils can last 1-2 years. However, citrus oils should not be used after 6-9 months.
Allergies
Before working with essential oils, be sure to do a skin allergy test. Many people have sensitive skin and it’s important to take precautions and avoid allergic reactions to both essential oils and carrier oils.
To test for allergies, simply place a drop of your chosen carrier oil on your skin. Check and see if there is a reaction over the course of 12 hours. Place one drop of essential oil in 15 drops of carrier oil and apply to your chest. Check and see if there is a reaction over the course of 12 hours. If there is no reaction, then you likely have no allergy to the plant or the oil.
Precautions
Please avoid essential oils if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Specifically, avoid: cardamom, coriander, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, lavender, lemon, lemon balm, lemongrass, lime, mandarin, neroli, palmarosa, petitgrain, spearmint and ylang-ylang.
If you have sensitive or dry skin, it is best to avoid the following essential oils: black pepper, cinnamon, clove, grapefruit, lemon, lemon balm, lemongrass, lime, mandarin, orange, peppermint and spearmint.
When starting out with using essential oils for health purposes, it’s important to address one symptom or issue at a time. Limit your selection to a few different oils until you become more familiar with your tools. Once you get comfortable, start experimenting with making your own blends. As time goes by, you’ll see what works best for your body and you!
Stress
Stress often has the side effects of anxiety, upset stomach, heart palpitations and rapid breathing. One of the most common essential oils used to alleviate stress is peppermint - it relaxes the mind and body. Lavender is another good choice as it relaxes muscles and the vapors help regulate breathing.
Pain and Muscle Tension
Muscle tension and pain are something most of us are familiar with. When using essential oils to address this particular issue, it’s best to create a massage oil to rub the affected area. If you’re trying to relax muscles and ease pain, allspice and geranium are great choices.
Chest Congestion
Flus, colds, respiratory illnesses - we’re no stranger to those during the winter months. To use essential oils to treat this, apply a few drops of diluted oil across the chest and massage into the skin. I tend to use eucalyptus, but thyme is another great choice!
Concentration and Focus
Everyone experiences difficulties with focus and concentration; stress, lack of sleep, anxiety and depression are just a few possible culprits. To use essential oils for this, apply a few drops to the temples, middle of the forehead and the base of the neck. Rosemary and spearmint are great choices for this as they help you relax while improving mental clarity.
Fatigue
At the end of the day, many of us feel exhausted from school, work and just life in general. To help with this, place a few drops of essential oil on your wrists and rub them in. Citrus oils like lemon and lime work really well since they uplift mood, relieve fatigue and provide mental clarity and focus.
Insomnia
Sometimes we just can’t fall asleep. Place a few drops of essential oil on your forehead and at the base of your neck. Lemon balm and ylang-ylang are good choices for this as they promote restful sleep and reduce stress and anxiety.
Anxiety
This issue typically involves both the physical and mental parts of the body. To help alleviate anxiety, place a drop of essential oil on the forehead, base of the neck, wrists and along the collarbone or upper chest. Chamomile, lavender and lemon balm are excellent choices.

Updated 7 March 2018 to include more warnings and to be consistent with other posts in this series of lessons.
Warnings:
Do not apply undiluted essential oils directly to your skin. They are incredibly potent and are likely to cause irritation, burns and permanent scars. You must utilize an appropriate carrier oil for dilution - water is not acceptable.
Essential oils are not edible - DO NOT INGEST THEM. They are not used in tinctures, extracts or anything meant to be taken internally.
Diffusing essential oils can be toxic to your pets. Please do extensive research on which types of oils are not harmful to your pets.
Do your own research regarding medicinal plants and usage, especially if you are sensitive or have allergies of any kind. If you are on medication(s), consult a doctor before use.
Finally, aromatherapy is not a substitution for professional medical and psychiatric aid. If you are experiencing any prolonged health and/or mental health issues, SEE A DOCTOR.

sometimes being a witch is just drawing a sigil on ur titty
Me, staring at a candle for a solid 23 minutes: ……..
Me, swinging a pendulum: should I have macaroni and cheese for dinner?
Me, talking to rocks: hello I love you everyone gets to be kissed
Me, kissing my rocks: cleansed♡
Me, lighting incense and waving it around: YeSSS
Me, throwing herbs into a bottle: okay yeah uh rosemary represents like.. love. I think. This is a love potion. Yeah
Me, chugging piping hot tea: SELF CARE
“Oh I love roses! I try growing them myself, but they never get very far.”
“Would you like to know the secret to healthy rose bushes,” I asked, knowing that she would not like the answer.
“Do tell!”
Grin. “Blood.”
The customer paused, waiting for me to say that I was kidding. But I wasn’t so it never came. She became nervous.
And before I could explain that blood meal is a common soil fixer and fertilizer, she put her hands up, spun around and said-
“Bye.”
You want to know the secrets to a beautiful garden? You better be prepared for some weird shit.
