I NEED SOME IDEA HELP

SO I’ve redesigned Ladybug’s suit. Completely. BUT what about Chat Noir? Please comment/reblog with ideas. (Maybe Banana Noir-inspired?)

After going through 36 pieces of paper, and almost paying to get my overly shaky hand surgically removed, I finally finished this redesign of Ladybug’s suit. I cannot do digital art, so i did it on paper. I’m not very good at drawing so this is very bad, it would probably be better if someone who knew how to art did it.

After all these years (not even two full years since I made the og design)… I finally caved…

Needed to make Chat Noir look even more like a scruffy lil meow meow (also took a bit of inspiration from that one AU design of Adrien I made a bit ago)

Not quite Miraculous: The Series art (as Marinette and Adrien aren’t ever going to wield the mouse and snake respectively in MTS), but I decided to try drawing Multimouse and Aspik in the MTS-ish artstyle. (I’ll be real, giving Marinette the red mouse eyes was a large part of my motivation for making these two. That, and Aspik’s snake cloak.)

(Oh and by the way we changed hero Max’s name from Pegasus to Sir Steed. Why? Because vibes I guess; that, and he doesn’t have actual wings so Pegasus feels inaccurate.)

Since I’m officially a year older now, I figured I’d share my growth as an artist with y’all. True GlitterPenSupremacy followers will know that I had to redesign my redesign (hehe) of Viperion, but he isn’t the first MTS character I didn’t nail on the first try. Here’s a few others that I had to reredesign (and a bit about why)

This one is a special instance, since I technically haven’t redesigned her yet, but it’s an idea I had for a civilian Zoe design. Basically I don’t really like the colors anymore (and her proportions are off) so I’ll be reworking it. The final design will probably still go with the orange stars, but it’ll look different.

Of all the characters I’ve reredesigned, I think she was probably the most decent to begin with. Other than her features being a bit blurry, her biggest issue is that her costume is basically just a recolor of her Miracubug one (and while I do like that version of her design, it just doesn’t fit in with the MTS cast of character designs).

The OG Carapace design was me trying to make an intimidating character, but accidentally leaving him too bland looking. The fullbody suit and lack of hair just wasn’t doing it (plus he needed more variety in his color palette beyond shades of green).

I thought Ladybug was pretty good at the time, but when viewing her design (both on its own and in contrast to her partner), it definitely needed more. Adding another shade of red (and the cute little neon clovers) was absolutely necessary.

Yeah his color scheme and details are kinda lame in comparison to modern MTS designs, and his hair also feels a bit basic, but let’s be real, the biggest offender, (BY FAR) was his proportions. Like who is that??? Certainly not Ivan! I had to fix his shape so it actually looked like the character.

Polymouse had a lot of the same issues as Minotaurox. Mid detailing, generic color scheme (especially with Pigment around: Mylene needed more than just pink, grey, and white), an uninspired hairstyle, and most importantly WHY DOES SHE LOOK LIKE THAT?!?!?! She needed her proportions fixed to match her actual body type.

Other than her eyes needing to be pink like Daizzi’s, the general vibe I was going for with Pigment changed, and I needed to give her a new costume to reflect that. (This design is decent, but not MTS-worthy and doesn’t really show what kind of hero Pigment is.)

This is a pretty old design (made in ‘22!) so there were a lot of things I needed to rework. I’d say the main thing was Greyhound’s personality changing from his initial design. When I first conceptualized Greyhound MTS, I kinda figured he’d have the same personality as Felix, just being a superhero (and maybe a tad less formal). Nowadays he’s a lot more of the sweet but shy puppy type (a lot of Felix’s softer and “not professional” emotions get repressed as a civilian, and kinda leak out as Greyhound). I needed his new design to represent that. Now he fits his power (he had the concept of Devotion and healing powers) and age (14) much better than his OG design.

My first ML design! You can see a lot about my skills and confidence from this drawing. I was heavily trying to mimic the Miracubug style (with Night Light’s design basically being ML Vesperia as a Firefly and also me altering all the pet peeves I had with VP’s design) despite that not really fitting my skills as an artist. Plus I just wasn’t as good at detailing back then. This is why the modern Night Light design is essentially just a glow-up of the old one (with the fluffier hair, baggier clothes, and black retinas being the main objectives of the design). I also got better at communicating personality through my designs (well, that, and I wasn’t too sure what NL’s personality would be at first). Like Greyhound, I think the newer design looks far more her age!

And that’s (probably) all of them! Hopefully this was interesting to y’all (and if it wasn’t, well, I’m gonna justify my self indulgence with the Birthday Card). I’ve actually got a new hero design or two in the works, so if you’re interested, keep your eyes peeled 👀

Alright Nathaniel Fans, I’ll come out and say it: I legitimately did not get the hype before but now I totally understand. The experience of designing this guy (and giving him extra lore) has permanently changed me as an individual. (He’s just a lil fella trust)

The original design had a pretty strong base, I just needed to add a bit more of Alya’s signature “practical journalist vibe”. (Like the renaming of her blog) she won’t be called Lady Wi-Fi, as she isn’t specifically motivated by just Ladybug. The new name we have is Network, but if you have any other suggestions, I’m all ears!

I’ve finally started to pin down how the MTS Kwami look! Kinda gooberish, idk…

I will start composing my plans for Adrien MTS, but here’s a little something I’ve been working on first:

Was practicing drawing with a larger scale and also wanted to try a few ideas I had to refine the Calamity design. Hopefully his details are more noticeable now!

More heroes!!! (Yes, I know Minotaurox and Ryuko have extremely similar color schemes, please just pretend they look unique lol.)

Polymouse/Mylene is a very interesting character in MTS, as she seems fairly similar to her original counterpart, but a significant part of her background (and by extension, how she connects to the plot) is quite different…

I like to think that as a superhero, Rose’s personality is a little too sweet (to the point of being unsettling), and she accidentally scares the civilians she’s trying to help. That along with her power, (which is very similar to how it is in the original show except showing people their greatest desire causes them to fall asleep), results in her having an aesthetic that’s a mixture of whimsical and spooky, which was the general look I was going for with her design. (Rose is also known as Pigment, not Pigella, in MTS.)

(I know NOW that it was supposed to be pourpre, not purple, but I got a lil too invested in the color scheme.) These two might be an unconventional duo, but there’s a method to the madness here, I swear. (Not Ryuko looking like a whole new character here oof…)

In honor of it being spooky month, I have decided to post one of my akuma designs

This is the MTS version of Sole Crusher. When a character gets akumatized, its usually because a short-term situation they’re in triggers an underlying issue that has been festering long before Hawk Moth even started terrorizing Paris (the main exceptions to this being young children, who have had less time for a large issue to fester, but also struggle with dealing with their intense emotions, and the more sinister akumas, who are easier to akumatize due to being full of negative energy). In this case, it would be the short term trigger of Chloe trying to get Zoe to behave like her (which would be more of an attempt on Chloe’s part to show her little sister how she genuinely thinks the world works as opposed to being intentionally malicious towards her) combining with Zoe’s long term traumas of needing to conform to others’ desires such as the kids at her boarding school and their mother (hence why SC’s design has the black and white like Audrey’s style).

Sole Crusher’s power would also be different from what it was in the original series. Instead of needing to touch people with the shoes she’s wearing to absorb them and grow larger, she’d end up summoning giant, high heeled pillars to step on people and drain them of all personality (“If I can’t be myself… No one can!”). This change was mainly made to prevent there from being too many akumas whose power is grow really big, and it fit the soul crusher idea that her name is inspired by far better.

(I also think it goes without saying that Zoe’s acting complex would not be resolved in one episode. She’d probably start to act perfect and sweet with the rest of the cast at the end of the episode, but it’s more that she’s watering down her personality to appease potential new friends rather than genuinely being fully honest with others. Similarly, most of the other characters would hold on to their suspicions of Zoe and not immediately accept her.)

Posting more art to keep myself sane (saw a bad ML take, trying to cope). And it’s Bunnix! Her outfit was partly inspired off of the Ben 10 (2005) style (also her colors reminded me of Portal).

This is my reboot’s version of Carapace. The circumstances behind him getting the turtle miraculous was a bit more dire than the original show, hence why he looks… like that.

Still trying to figure out Ladybug's design, so any opinions are welcome ! But I'm more inclined to choose between the first and the third options.

The thick leg warmers are cute but I don't think they fit my version of Ladybug, who's supposed to incorporate gymnastic moves into her combat style, so she needs a very light suit. I'm also planning on shortening those wings.

The gold accents look a bit too jarring for me tbh, so I'm considering removing them and leaving them for a power up/leveled up version of the suit.

As bonus, here's a more dynamic shitty sketch of Ladybug that I made to see how the design would look like in action. Will finish it some day, for now uni work is piling up...

About Chloe again as I am once again waiting for one of my cats to be neutered

Well, it's been a while since I thought about my Miraculous AU since things happened (WHB, my phone's battery swelled, new hyper fixation with manwhas with "reincarnate as the villain" trope, etc, etc.) so I figured that It would be better to write about what I have so far for my favorite character.

I don't know about you, but I think filling your life with different father figures/mentors, the idea of ​​contradictory teachings I think would be a good thing to explore; André does not educate her and spoils her, Audry sets a terrible example for her, Gabriel plays an uncle role (forget the Canon! Gabriel), Armand is like a surrogate father who every time he's more worried, ​​(plus an OC I planned to literally have confrontations with Audrey and behave like a mother and mentor to Chloe, being strict but seriously caring about her). Yes, I replaced Bustier due to changes in the AU since they are separated into 2 different schools.

So, I think more or less their relationships could be said to be the following;

André; Even though he is her father, they don't really have a relationship, which causes a disconnection on both of their parts. Even when he gives her everything, it's just material things. I would like to think that he would start trying to relate to her after seeing signs or directly the results of his neglect, but I feel that it could be perceived as too late, so possibly Chloe could reject him and instead of insisting as a father, he would he would pay attention to Zoe to make up for his mistakes with Chloe, further driving the rift between the sisters. basically, he is negligent, hasn't learned how to be a father and is certainly selfish as he just wants to calm his mind by "fixing" his mistake. although I feel that the positive thing Chloe could have gotten out of him would be a political attitude, the way of analyzing and the importance of transparency (this man will also have a large rewrite).

Audrey; I still haven't made up my mind about this woman since I feel like some people are putting weight off her actions to disfavor Chloe when she's clearly a shitty mother, so I don't know whether to make her a total secondary villain or handle her solely as an antagonist. I definitely feel like she's a "you ruined my life" type of mom, resentful of her daughter and her husband, maybe married because she got pregnant. Obviously his relationship with Chloe is not good, even as she tries to follow his example and seek his approval, I think he will compare her to Zoe to hurt her. She is a flamboyant, unfriendly and cruel woman (and Cheater), but I think the positive thing Chloe could have gotten out of her would be the character, the determination she learned from trying to get her approval and the antipathy towards the judgment of others (like "that's all you have? my mom tells me worse things." sad, but useful in combination with other traits).

Gabriel; I will change even this man's DNA, so things are different here! First of all, he is not a shitty man, he has just really seen a lot of shit and is psychologically so fucked, but he does take into account how his actions can mark the children (he is also wrong, walking away during the duel to prevent his sons see him destroyed, obviously causing negative effects that he recognizes as his mistake as a father). For his part, he has repeatedly tried to talk to André so that he can relate to his daughter and has been in several situations where Chloe needed her father. Generally, he sees her as his niece who needs help but doesn't know how to support her other than to recognize her and advise her as best he can, but he's also not very good at dealing with children.

(As "Hawk Moth" the guy will definitely akumatize her often, but it's because in this AU the butterfly miraculous can take things from the akumatized person's mind, like pain or sadness. The butterfly miraculous can be a great tool for mental health as a great psychological weapon)

Armand (Jean?); Okay, let's be honest, this is Chloe's real father since a father is one who raises, not one who begets. (I don't know why but he has that vibe that he could be a malewife father, so I have the headcanon that he could have bought or even sewn the teddy bear for Chloe himself). This man behaves like a loving and proud father when no co-worker is around, even acknowledging Chloe's unpleasant personality traits. Curiously, I feel that he felt sorry for her when she was a child, so he wanted to compensate her for André's negligence, but before he realized it, he was already on the verge of crying while writing a speech for his elementary school graduation. Armand tried to avoid most of the Bourgeois' toxic influence, but he is too lenient in scolding her, so she gets her way easily without threats. They actually have a very good relationship, he will try to teach her the right path and will be there for her when she needs him. Armand is a sensitive, fatherly and calm man (as well as somewhat playful, as he is willing to participate in harmless pranks).

???; Since this character is an OC, I have doubts about introducing her since generally when OC's are introduced in AUs or fics I lose interest, so I will leave her for later, but I must say that she will be key for Chloe in the future.

(God, I think that with everything I upload about Chloe, no one is going to believe me that Marinette is still protagonist in my AU, although I must admit that I like to think that each character would be the protagonist in their respective akumatization episodes and that the focus It's not exclusive to Marinette.)

Well, that's all for now. I had to go home to write this on PC since the Tumblr page reloaded and deleted Armand's paragraph. It's been 3 hours since my cat was neutered.

Despues de un tiempo, acá está Marinette :D

Ok, tengo una banda de cosas que aclarar acá ya que es muy distinta al canon. Primero que nada yo creo que un físico muy delgada le queda bastante bien por alguna razón, como que tiene esa vibra. Después, la cara y pelo me gustaron mucho, tiene un jellyfish cut que se lo agarra con clips y lo ata con coletas de esa forma. La cara por otro lado le quería dar esa vibra relajada como sorbet cookie (la cual no hice tal cual ya que la expresión se la estoy reservando a alguien más) y la forma de la boca de personajes corte Serio Hanta de BNHA, ya que creo que pega una gran sonrisa y una mirada relajada.

En esta versión Marinette es más tímido y su ansiedad es más fuerte, pero aún así intenta usar la ropa que le gusta por muy excéntrica que sea. (Me gusta pensar en una mezcla punk con algo como pastel o coquette).

Y también, eso de arriba son como se ven los aretes de Ladybug camuflados.

Por cierto, tengo más bocetos de Marinette, por si les gustaría verlos.
